Looking for a set of pear sapphires for e-ring

Hi everyone!
I'm in the process of getting a custom e-ring made with whiteflash (see below), and am having trouble finding some nice lighter hue pear flanking sapphires (was hoping for something like the second image). The stones are supposed to be approximately 4x3mm. Also, In searching around, I've become pretty interested in seeing if I could get color-changing stones - have been looking around, and it seems pretty rare to find a matched pair of color-changing stones in the first place though. I've had preliminary discussions with a cutter I found through here about purchasing a single larger stone and cutting it into 2 separate pears, however this is risky due to potential color zoning, arrangement of inclusions, etc. Does anyone have any idea where I could get a set of color changing pears matching the above, or maybe where I could get a set of matched stones that could be recut into pears?
I've found a set of pears that aren't color-changing that might work, but are a tad bigger than what I'm looking for here:

Thanks for any suggestions and insight!!

Have WF source them for you; less time, less risky and less cost.

Unfortunately WF hasn't been able to come up with anything (the pear options they've given me are relatively dark - they're pretty stones, but I was hoping for lighter), which is why I'm searching on my own for the time being.

I'm on the road today but will see what I can find tonight. Check out Palagems. A pair of sapphire pears will be limited though. To recut is really inadvisable and you are obligated to keep the pair regardless of the outcome. The eBay pair is splotchy and horribly colour zoned; not a good e-ring side stone choice.

Why do you think the WF pair is too dark? If anything, the Gemfix sapphire you linked is too light and grayish.

Thanks for the feedback on the ebay pair - I'm new to this so feedback like that is great. Yeah, I'm aware of the risk of failure with the recut option, which is why the cutter advised me to exhaust/explore other options first. If I went that way, it would be a calculated risk, and I'd go into it with the understanding that I may not end up with something usable and that I'm bearing all the risk.

The ring I've linked is a CAD image - the stone options they've sent me are attached to this one. My thinking was that perhaps going for a lighter shade would make the ring clash a little less with different outfits, and would also not distract from the diamond itself. Maybe I'm completely out to lunch on that, don't know. Feedback is appreciated - thanks guys.

I unfortunately still don't know enough to give you feedback on those particular stones. They both look like they have color zoning to me but I'm still learning.

I agree with you on the point that at least a slightly lighter sapphire will provide less jarring contrast with the center diamond, if that's what you are looking for. Often with a sapphire center, people are searching for a deep rich blue and white diamond sidestones help that pop. But if the sides are sapphires I can see your point. You just don't want something grayish if you can avoid it :)

I've had a diamond center with 2 rich medium dark blue sapphires and they made the entire ring stand out. Medium dark is a classic tone and goes well with everything. I would not go lighter. It's not the tone that is the issue but the saturation. The WF pairs are too gray. I just remembered that Wink Jones sourced a pair of trilliants for me, which are less common than pears. Give him a call or email. I think he's is Boise, Idaho and has a website. He's also a rep for Infinity Diamonds which should make your search easier.

Jereni - yeah, the jarring contrast was essentially what I was thinking. Hmmm, Chrono thanks for the comments on color - I still think a tad lighter might be more what I'm looking for, but you've definitely given me pause on going as light as I was thinking. Thanks for the suggestion on sourcing as well - I'll look into WInk.
Thanks a lot guys,
Vic

This pair is from Wink. I had trilliants, then changed my mind and went with rounds since they look bigger and more brilliant. These are medium dark and taken under low light conditions. The amount of contrast is just right to me, never blacking out. They brighten up outdoors.

Hey Chrono - that is a very nice ring for sure. I think my preference for color would still maybe be closer to something like the attached. I've been talking with Michael E, and he suggested that he may be able to get some Montana sapphire rough - if he's amenable to going ahead with looking for some suitable rough, I think I might get him to cut the pears. If that doesn't work out for whatever reason, I'll talk to Wink I think, but I really kinda would like to see what Michael can do - having looked up his work on this site, he has made some very nice jewelry and the gems he cuts are very nice. I really appreciate the help, Chrono.
