Hey All,

Looking for a round cut diamond, SI1 or VS2 (must be eye clean)
Excellent cut, polish, symmetry, Triple EX
in the F or G color, F preferred
Hoping to stay in the 1.65-1.70ct

HCA score of less than 1.9

My max budget is $16400

I have been in the market for 3 weeks, and lucky found this forum. This seems to be so much better than going through "brokers" who just mark up a diamond that they found using the same resources we have access to.

This is what i've found so far:

1.72 F si1 7.83 7.79 $16325 HCA 1.2

1.73 F si1 7.70 7.67 $16425 HCA 1.4

Any suggestions? Hoping to stay under $16000

This diamond got a 2.5 on HCA. Any others? Never heard of Whiteflash but it looks like there is no GIA on there. Only AGS.

First of all the HCA tool is used to eliminate stones that are not ideal not to be used to pick your best stone. AGS0 and GIA are the two labs you should be looking at. however you should use the HCA tool on GIA 3X to eliminate those that do not have the ideal cut.

Does that make sense.

WF, Good old Gold, Brian Gavin , Wink are three excellent vendors supported here.

yes, thank you so much for the information. still learning about GIA and AGS0. i am using the HCA tool to reject a lot of stones and then I will get an ideascope to make a selection. i know blue nile and b2jewelers seem to have the best pricing at the moment.

Would this stone be considered a 60/60 stone even tho it's table and depth is 59.6 and 59.0?

It's a 60/60 but the crown angle is WAY too low. Normally we say 34-35 (35.5 is okay with right pavilion angle too). But I think with 60/60 you can go down to 33.5.

I wouldn't go lower. And you should not buy a 60/60 without an idealscope.

Gypsy, those are really good prices. I've emailed BE for the GIA and Idealscopes and received Real and Aset image from b2c.
They said that the idealscope could be provided. The Aset shows a good amount of leakage in white. Would you say that it's worth checking out based on the Real and Aset?

Gypsy, BE has round stones in-house? I never realized! Thanks for pointing that out.
