I am looking for a professionals advice/opinion. I want to see if someone can tell me what they believe the price range should be for a certain stone.
The specs are:
1.75 ct
Ideal Cut
Color-E
SI2
EGL US certified

What other info is needed? I do have the EGL cert number if that would help.

What shape is this?

Will need the table, depth %, crown and pavilion angles or height at least.

Just run a search for a diamond like that with a carat range between 1.70 - 1.79 carats on the front page of this site using the diamond search engine... I was able to easily find a few diamonds that can be used as "comps" but as indicated, you need to determine the total depth; table diameter; crown angle; pavilion angle; girdle thickness; culet size; polish / symmetry rating; etc. in order to actually be able to fine tune the price...

To support and extend what Todd said, taking best advantage of the info you DO have...I would also check only the box on the bottom for "other," not including certification for either AGS or GIA in your set of results. Including those other 2 increases your range to 3 times as many diamonds, and an average cost of about $10K, with the range being $3K higher or lower. Constraining to "other" is more accurate, based on the information given, making the average price about $8K, with the range being $2K higher or lower. than that.

This is what I was able to pull off of EGL''s site.
Weight 1.75 CT
Shape ROUND BRILLIANT
Color E
Clarity SI2
Measurements 7.65 x 7.59 x 4.8 mm
Depth 63%
Table 59%
Crown 15.2%
Pavilion 43.2%
Crown Angle 36.3°
Pavilion Angle 41°
Girdle SL. THICK FACETED
Polish VERY GOOD
Symmetry GOOD
Fluorescence FAINT BLUE
Culet NONE
Cut Grade N/A
Comments
UGS Appraisal Value N/A

Sorry Joe, this diamond isn't well cut, it is physically too deep and has what we call steep deep angles, this diamond will probably leak light and not sparkle/ perform as well as it could do.

Also you posted in the title requesting a professional opinion, the only poster that has replied in this thread that is a professional is Todd.

Using the HCA tool located here...this does not look to be a well cut stone. I would keep searching.

HCA 5.6 g,g,f,g - only if money is your main criteria

Edit - Lorilee has you covered! We were posting at the same time.

Chicago Joe,

The crown and pavilion angles are both much too steep to work well together. Try to look for a combo more like this: crown 34.5 - 34.7, with a complimentary pavilion angle of 40.7 - 40.8.
