I'm looking to surprise my girlfriend with the proposal in a few months.
She has long and slender fingers, perfect for the elongated shape of a marquise cut in my humble opinion. I'm looking for such a stone in the VG cut, G-H, VS1-SI2, 0.5-1.0 ct range, with a budget of $2000 on the stone. (She'll be picking her ring after the proposal.)
I started out my search with online retailers like Blue Nile and James Allan, and they of course have a good selection of stones. But ultimately I wanted to able to see the stones in person, and more importantly, have a relationship with the jeweler. So the complication with that approach is that marquise isn't a particular popular stone nowadays, and my current search haven't been entirely fruitful. So I'd greatly appreciated if you all can give me a hand (or two) with suggestions. Thanks!
