I've been reading this forum for the past week and using the HCA tool on this website. Looking for an ideal cut, ~ 1 carat diamond. Here are two that I found that I found on Blue Nile. Any thoughts on these?

Also, is there possibility to get a better 1 carat diamond in a similar price range?

In both of these- the table size is greater than the depth and it won't be possible to get idealscopes of these stones to check performance. I didn't run them through the HCA tool (up under tools if you want to do that) so I don't know if they score under 2 or not. Are you open to an an ideal cut stone with some fluorescence that we do have pictures of and idealscopes for? It's over a carat, just a little bit more pricewise than what you are looking at, and will be a great performer.

or this if you're willing to drop to I:

If you want to stay in the same 1ct size and G, I think a well cut stone is going to run a little more:

Thanks for the info. From a budget perspective, I am open to going up to about $7500 to $8000 or so.

If you're worried about color, for a reference, the stone in my avatar on the left is an I with medium blue fluor.

There are a few in your budget range in teh BG Blue line. It's fluorescent, and the fluorescence gives you a bit of a discount. They are also all ideal cut (because that is all he cuts in his in-house line) and there is plenty of performance info for them. They aren't guaranteed to have hearts and arrows symmetry (although they are ideal cut) so that also brings a discount so you get performance, without the extra you usually pay for H/A symmetry. Here's a few:

You might also search on Good Old Golds website. There may be some in your size, color and budget preference right now. I'll try to take a quick look myself.

You can't really go wrong with any of these vendor's in house stones. It's a lovely choice. What I would do if you want to go through BG is look for the setting style you want and make sure they have something, then I'd have them compare a couple of stones, like this one and the H posted before. They will give their opinion on which one they recommend...or perhaps they'll have you talk to Brian. If you like the stone, I'd put it on hold with them while they do this. They can go quickly and without warning from thread lurkers....

Thanks for all of the help. I have narrowed my search down to three diamonds from JA. I'm waiting for idealscope images that I requested on Monday. I will make another post once I receive the images to get feedback on which one looks the best. Thanks again.

Strong blue fluorescence.

While, I wait for the idealscope images from JA, was doing some additional searching. Can anyone tell me why this IF diamond is so cheap? Is there some other major flaw? The HCA score looked good. Is it because of the color?

I think the price is lower because of the strong blue fluorescence. I don't think that the fluorescence will affect the stone negatively. The crown angle is a little higher than most of the people on this forum like (PS recommends 34-35 degrees), but I think it will be a nice stone.
