Hello all,
I've been using this forum as a reference and have found it very helpful. Thanks for all your help so far, without even knowing it!
I've chosen to buy from WF because I like their knife-edge Tiffany replica. After figuring in that setting, including the wire discount, my budget leaves me with $2100 left to buy a diamond. Now I'm trying to decide which one to get! The most important thing to me is Cut -- I want to get an Excellent Cut. After that, my budget allows me to choose from several 0.70ct (or so) stones in the VS1-VS2, G-H range. I am comfortable with all that -- the 3/4 ct. range with those Clarity and Color characteristics was what I was hoping for!
Unfortunately, many of the 40 or so WF diamonds I've found in that Carat/Cut/Color range (via Pricescope) don't appear to be in-house at WF. That's not a problem in and of itself (right?), but it does mean many of them don't have GIA certificates linked to the diamonds on the WF website. This is a problem because ..... WF doesn't list the cut of those stones on their website -- you have to check the certificates to see what the Cut is! Of the 40 or so diamonds listed, only 8 or so linked to certificates. About 5 of those were Very Good Cut, and the other 3 were Excellent Cut. As I said, I would like an Excellent Cut to get that extra sparkle.
So, I have 2 questions:
1. What's the best way to check the Cut grade of those other 30 or so WF diamonds? Isn't it a bit much to call/email and ask about each one individually? Or would that be the way to go?
2. Of these 3 Excellent diamonds I've found so far, is there any significant difference between them?
a. 0.70ct. H VS1 Excellent - $1927 - 60.6 d, 61 t - 33*, 41.2* - VG pol, VG sym - M-TK girdle - Faint fluor
b. 0.73ct. H VS2 Excellent - $2017 - 60.8 d, 60 t - 34*, 41.2* - VG pol, VG sym - TN-STK girdle - No fluor
c. 0.70ct. H VS1 Excellent - $2087 - 60.6 d, 60 t - 35*, 41.0* - VG pol, VG sym - TN-M girdle - No fluor
My thinking is that they're all about the same, and I won't notice much of a difference between them. Is this true? What do you all think? How should I choose among them? On girdle, carat, etc.?
Thank you all so much for your opinions and help!
