Hi All!

To make a long story short, after breaking off a previous engagement and losing signifcant money on the first go around, I was lucky enough to meet a spectacular woman and have been with her for the last year and half and have decided she is the one.

I was a happy customer of Brian Gavin for the first ring, so I am very familiar with Brian, Jame Allen, GoodOldGold, and Whiteflash. The trouble this time, is that the shopping and spending countless hours isn't nearly as fun as it was the first time around. I hate to say it that way, but after you spend hour upon hour researching and shopping to then find out it was a complete waste and to lose an expensive ring in the process, it takes a bit of the fun out of the actual shopping process the second time. I still want to make sure my GF gets a great ring, so I need to get over myself and suck it up for her benefit

I would love any assistance or advice the helpful members can offer. I purchased a nice cushion last time that had great specs, but it just never sparkled like a beautiful round cut does, so I am looking at going with a round cut this time around.

I'm looking for something around 1.5 ct, F-H Color, and nothing lower than VS2, but probably VVS-VS1. Does anyone know of a nice way to narrow down the shopping 'experience' rather than spending hours on all of the websites comparing?

what is your budget and what kind of setting do you want?

Would like to stay below $20K... Probably a simple Platinum solitare, or one that has just a couple very small side stones in the ring itself.
