I have in the past couple days, posted somethings about new stones.. well I finally made the plunge and bought a beautiful Aquamarine from Osirisgems. I picked out the rough and he cut it for me. I can''t wait to have it in hand!!

Thanks! I''m actually setting it in my engagement ring. I know most people don''t like aqua in erings but I''ve had the same one for the past year and no scratches or chips .. just a large window that drives me nuts!

I like the busier cut and interesting outline of your new aquamarine; it is going to minimize that dreaded tilt window common in low RI stones.

It is a 1.46 ct aqua, 7.2mm wide, from flat to flat. I can''t wait to get it and have it set!

Nice cutting. The rough looks greener than the finished stone though. Does it have a greenish tinge to it?

I love the color of the unheated rough.

I really don''t understand why people prefer to heat Aquamarine, the greenish blue is so much prettier to me.

Having said that, I have a heated light blue Aqua in an emerald cut that I just love.

I love Aquamarine because it is such a classic stone. I like stones that even my grandmother can relate to like sapphire, ruby, emerald and aqua. They''re stones a princess would have worn a hundred years ago. Totally classic.

i received the stone today in the mail! It is a little lighter than I expected but I still love it! It is cut beautifully!

I know its a little light but it will get rid of the window in my current engagement ring and the Fiance said I could always upgrade my stone in the future to get a darker one.. I didnt pay much for it and Uli did a great job cutting it!
