The US Navy is investigating this contrail one of its jets left in the sky.

SNIP:
US Navy officials have said it was "absolutely unacceptable" that one of their pilots used a jet's contrail to draw a penis in the sky.

The phallic outline over Okanogan County in the western US state of Washington provoked much mirth online.

But commanders at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island did not see the funny side and have ordered an inquiry.

A spokesman for the airbase confirmed that the aircraft involved was one of its Boeing EA-18G Growlers.

It would be ominous if this is a misogynist pilot's political statement regarding all the women coming forward about harassment/abuse/rape.

There IS a war going on, after all.

I like to think it's someone making a statement about the d!ck that's in the White House right now. He is, after all, "Commander In Chief."

I keep wondering if he realized his smoke was on and what it would look like....

Hammerhead and Cuban 8 are common practice maneuvers.

LOL!

Pretty good artwork given that his "instrument" was an airplane. Nothing wrong with the subject matter in my opinion. How is it anti-woman? it's just...uh...anti-authoritarian in that the brass will not approve.

Deb ;))

... Another man who can't keep it in his pants! :nono:

My son worked with these pilots at Whidbey up until July this year and says it doesn't surprise him at all. I think it's funny and as TP says, they are legitimate maneuvers.

I would have said cat in the hat too, although...that wasn’t my first thought :lol-2::lol-2:

HI:

Tiffany bow necklace??

cheers--Sharon

I doubt it's Photoshop.

I think it's pretty safe to assume that BBC does fact checking before running such a story.

BTW, who is the woman in your cool avatar?

I guess it's real, but it is so incredibly foolish of the pilots!
My avatar is a photo of Millicent Rogers, socialite and heiress to the Standard Oil fortune.
She moved to Taos, NM in the late 40s and fully embraced the culture, hence the Native silver bracelets.

Thanks.
That's one classy lookin gal!

I think it's made more amusing by the fact that the plane was called a 'growler' lol

(That may be something only some UK people will get!)

An inquiry? Really. At what cost? The pilot was a bit dumb for doing it, but the Naval Air Station is the fool for wasting money.

For what it's worth I think it's mildly amusing.
