I realize my chances of getting this figured out are ridiculously slim, but here goes...

When a friend of mine got engaged several years ago, 2004 I believe, I went hunting for wedding dresses online with her, and one of them has stuck in my memory. I LOVED this dress and others in the same line - the image is burned in memory, but I can't remember the designer!

Here is what little I have to go on:

1) The photoshoot for the collection was done outside in bright light on a stone terrace w/ railing, overlooking intensely blue water.
2) The dress itself had long lace sleeves, with a dramatic open back. In the photo I'm remembering, the model is standing at the railing, facing away from the camera to show off the back of the dress.

Does anyone have the slimmest idea of what designer this might have been??? I'm hoping for a miracle :)

ladyciel, was it a full skirt, a-line, or did it have a long train? I personally don''t remember seeing anything like it but I got married in 2003 and was looking at bridal magazines in 2002, so I''m not going to be much help, unfortunately. But if you can remember more details or even the magazine you saw it advertised or featured in I think it would help jog people''s memories. good luck!

I believe it was an A-line skirt. Full, but not gigantic frilly ballroom. I don't think the train was any longer than chapel length. Really, the most memorable parts of the photo were the background (stunning location, very unlike the usual monocolor or staircase/chaise stuff) and the open back of the dress paired w/ the long sleeves. I saw it online somewhere, probably linked from theknot.com. I've searched on there with all sorts of permutations to try and find it, but it's probably long gone. I would really just like to ID the designer at this point, since I liked the overall style and feel of the dress.

Do you possibly remember which websites you were looking at with the other bride??? I'm hooked, there has to be a way to get to the bottom of this!

ETA: oh, and could you possibly call that friend and ask which designers' collections she was browsing? She may even be able to remember some small detail that might jog your memory as far as the designer of your dream dress!

OOOOOH!!!

Alfred Angelo is the designer!

This is the exact location. I can''t find the dress I''m thinking of anywhere, though.

I was going to post Alfred Angelo, but I couldn''t find the dress you were talking about.

Could it have been this one? It has a very low back (press "detail"):
