LOGR Setting Gaudy or Gorgeous?

remember that once you read my opinion, it''s only there because you asked...

that is the most over-the-top, ridiculous looking piece i''ve ever seen. it looks like a block of castles that can house multitudes of people. it''s too much WITHOUT the potential rocks on top. sigh. only MY opinion though and i have a tendency towards un-ornate things. sorry.

I actually quite like it! The workmanship is lovely, especially for the price. I''d set it with lovely pale sapphires or possibly green gems - something cool and clean and light to counter the ornate setting - and rock the hell out of it.

I agree gaudy vs gorgeous is so personal...everyone's opinion is so different...I have to agree with anitabee though - way over the top for me. A setting like that would be great at camouflaging poorly cut stones maybe, but if you've got a beautiful diamond I just don't see the point.

Disclaimer: My personal preference is very modern, no ornate designs. That said I still appreciate elaborate settings on others.

But that setting just looks way over the top to me. Too much going on, i can't focus on any specific part of the ring. Just looks like it's trying to hard to look impressive but fails.

This is also my impression... and I tend to like fairly ornate rings.

Btw, Gaudy or Gorgeous was really just a creative way for me to say ''Hey guys, what do you think?", lol..

I never intended on buying it, I was just curious about what everyone thought..
