I haven't never bought from them, but thought maybe I would after hearing the reviews here in CS. Have any of you "made an offer" that was accepted? I have made several and couteroffers, but they wouldn't accept any. :lickout: :loopy:

Taylor from my experience and what others have said here, I think he'll only deduct a very small amount, like 10% tops.

TL..thanks for the info. I don't think they will discount the price by much.... 8-)

I bought a ring that was listed at $220 for $185.55 =)

I'm about to make an offer to them for a setting and see what they say.

Jm....did they accept your offer? :wavey:

I got a setting for $150 that usually goes for $185.

Except, my stone didn't fit and I had had it resized, so I was out $45 bucks for the shipping and customization costs. I re-ordered the same setting, but I won it on auction the second time for just $140, which I had to customize to fit my stone for another $30.. :loopy:

So you don't ask the customization fee ahead of time? You just bid on the auction and ask to customize after? Can someone walk me through the process if you bid on the auction and need it customized to fit your stone. I've wondered about this. Thanks

No, ask ALL questions BEFORE. Always. Never wait till after you've bid.

ETA: You can also specify your "terms" on the form when you're placing a Best Offer. For the first setting, I specified that I wanted a size 8 for $150, and I wasn't charged the usual $10 for sizing. For more customization that sizing, you'll be charged the $30 fee. For customizations other than sizing, I doubt that they'll "include" in the Best Offer cost the way they did with my sizing request.

There was nowhere to make the offer for the setting I wanted so I messaged them and I want to see what they say and then I'll try to counter offer.

I have decided that I prefer paying the BIN price, I have won two rings in a auction, but then to have the ring customiced ( my size is 9 and I only use 18k gold) is a very high amount, and it is not always the same, if you win the auction at a low price, then the quote of the custom work will be higher, so you end up paying the same and feeling kind of stupid. I am also afraid if the price is considered very low I migth get sub par diamonds...
I was upset about this the first time I bougth so I let the ring pass. But then I realized I wanted to try and have a sample of the diamonds and work, so I have coming to me: a citrine pendant ( the citrine wont be very good, but it is for a gift to a friend, and she doesnt care about stones, she just likes the colours and the diamonds), a semimount and a ring with " champagne" diamonds. I will write my impressions when I get them.

When I asked about my requirements before the auction, I was told: bid and when you win we will discuss the price of the custom work...
