Hello All,

My DH has given me the okay for Leon to reset my stone. HURRAY!!!! This will be a "push present" I just recently gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, Christian Troy, on 8/8/07.

I am contemplating the classic solitare (like Booms), or classic 3 stone. My stone is a RB 2.17.

If I opt for the 3 stone I am not sure if I would like tapered baguettes, bullets, or half moons. Any advice?

Thank you,
Lucy

No recommendations other than congratulations on the baby boy, Christian!

I like Boom''s ring. I think it will look timeless. Will you miss the solitaire look if you go with the 3 stone?

I vote 3 stone with the baggettes...

something like this Harry winston:

Will you continue to wear your wedding band as shown in your avatar? If so...the solitaire may fit better against it.

If you aren''t limited on a small budget, and lets face it...with LM you aren''t going into it to save $$$
and you have this opportunity to create a work of art...
and you aren''t DREAMING of the simplicity of the solitaire look as many of us are...
then I would say go forth with the planning of a multiple stone creation...
you can always change at the last and go for the solitaire...that way you know you have exhausted all your options. And a LM solitaire is never settling. The cream rises to the top...never settles

.

What is your ring size? Another option to consider on a multiple stone ring...do you have the realestate?

On a selfish note...

I wish you would go solitaire as I am too chicken to pull the trigger. Your stone is tad larger than mine...but I could vicariously get my fix...and actually use you as a guinea pig-I mean rabbit. Rabbits are fluffy and cute and adorable. You can be my Guinea Bunny!!!

Congrats on your new bundle!!

I envy you!!

Congratulations on your new baby boy!

Since my ring was mentioned, I hope you don''t mind that I add my 2 cents as well.

Is the center stone going to be a forever stone? Do you plan to upgrade anytime in the future? If you are, maybe the solitaire is the way to go. I went with the solitaire from Leon as I am hoping to upgrade to a bigger stone in a few years. My dream ring is KristyDarling''s with the pear sidestones but I didn''t want to spend that much on a setting that I wasn''t going to wear forever.

Don''t get me wrong, I love my Leon solitaire, it is extremely well made and built to last and if I don''t get to upgrade at all, I''ll still be a happy gal wearing my ring forever.

You can''t go wrong either way though, the solitaire for its simple elegance or the three stone for finger coverage, LM does both beautifully!

I LOVE boom's ring! If I were looking for a classic solitaire, that would be it!

If you want a RB+baguette 3 stone, you know Leon has a new 3 stone rb and baguette micropave? I just can't get over his micropave!

Never been much of a baguette fan, but I do absolutely ADORE the HW ring Mrs. S posted. I vote for THAT! Done by Leon, it would be fantastic!

Congrats on your baby boy! A leon setting is a GREAT ''push present''! I think both would be timeless, classic and beautiful! I agree knowing your budget would help.

All of them would make great choices, the biggest thing to consider would be your wedding band.

Do you plan on wearing the two together? If yes, then I say solitare.

If no, then my first choice would be baggettes. I think a three stone RB with baggettes is a timeless and classy look. I like bullets also-so between these two types of side stones I like baggettes slightly better.

I think that Angeline had a thread with pictures of both types of side stones next to her RB, maybe you can do a search and it will help you decide.

Edit to add:

I almost forgot...congratulations on the birth of your son!!!

This is my first time attaching a pic, so I hope it works. I think these are bullets, and I like this look also.

Lucky you! I would also say bullets or half moons. I'd be a little afraid that half moons might blend into the facet pattern. A step cut sidestone will highlight your center.

For bullets, I would go with something a little fatter, like the ones on this baby:

ETA: Congrats on the bouncing baby boy!!

I LOVE round with baguettes, but finding a wedding band is a little problematic. I love the solitaire myself. I like the flexibility of putting different bands with it.

I agree with diamondseeker, it is difficult to match a wedding band with a three stone.

Well, I shipped my ring to Leon yesterday. He should recieve it sometime next week. Therefore, I will have to make a decision soon.

Thank you Chrono- I agree the solitaire is classic, but I also think the 3 stone is as well. That is why I am having such a hard time deciding.

mrssalvo- I love the baguettes, but I just don''t think they will give the sparkle that I am looking for. However, I think the baguettes won''t take away from the center stone. I do want the center stone to look as big as possible.

door knob solitaire- I don''t plan on wearing the wedding band with the new setting. I will probalby wear my wedding band on a different finger. My ring size is 5.25.

Boom- I would never say never to an upgrade. But I don''t dare bring it up to hubby anytime soon. Maybe in 10 years or so. Boom, how wide is your band.

sera- Yes, I saw the 3 stone with pave. I do love the look of pave, but I don''t feel that it is durable for everyday wear.

Lynn B- I agree I love the look of the HW 3 stone with baguettes.

Tacori E-ring- Thank you. Yes, this is the ultimate push present. I just need to make up my mind now.

Kasey3- Thank you. I will have to do a search for Angeline''s ring. Not sure if I have seen it yet.

mercoledi- Do you think the half moons might blend in and make the stone look bigger?

diamondseeker2006- do you think that i could wear an eternity band if I opt for the baguette 3 stone?

Lucy-I am so excited for you, and I can''t wait to see your ring. Let us know what you decide!!!

Kaleigh has an oval with half moons that is stunning, so if you need a reference you can do a search.

Also, I have a rb 3-stone that I just posted pics of in the SMTR forum, and one of the pics includes a Leon pave eternity ring that I love, and I think it goes well with the three stone. I have tried on larger shared prong eternity rings with my ring, and they don''t really look right with it. For a three stone I like a plain band, no band, or the super thin Leon. If you were to get the 3-stone with baggettes, bullets, sheilds, or half moons the Leon band would look fab!!!! I am hoping for a RB with bullets or baggettes and a 2ct center someday so I will be waiting patiently to see what you end up with!!! Whatever you choose, it will be beautiful.

Kasey3 your rings are gorgeous. Is your 3 stone from Leon? It is stunning. Love the bling.
I am leaning more towards the classic solitaire. I still have a few days to decide.

By LM I am sure it would be breathtaking !

Congratulations for your baby boy !!

Congratulations on your baby boy!!!

I do see how hard it is to decide what you''d like. The bags are very classic. The bullets are "updated classic" but a 3 stone would give you sparkle. Does Leon have an opinion since he''s seen your stone? I''d go with whatever he says...

Whatever you decide let us know.

I think you''d just have to try lots of eternity rings on with it to see what works best. If you go that route, be SURE to tell Leon to make the ring so that a band can be worn with it. I had this conversation with him recently myself. He likes his rings worn alone, but an e-ring alone makes you look forever engaged. I just prefer wearing a wedding band.

Thanks Lucy, and yes the 3-stone is also a Leon.

And darn!! I need someone to get a Leon with side baggettes so that I can live vicariously through them!!! (just kidding)

The classic will be a beauty-I love a solitaire. Perhaps you can also get a Leon eternity band to match!!!

Does anyone have any suggestions on how wide the shank should be if I go with the solitaire? My finger size is 5.25 and the diamond is 2.17. Thanks for your help.

Lucy
