Little Seeting Details

What kind of details should I ask for from the setter?

1. To leave the inscription visible
2. To make sure that heart and arrows pattern is symmetrical to the prongs

Any other suggestions?

haha #2 is one that bugs me LOL I''ll probably request my melee be set just so - now... which way do you prefer, like a snowflake or a jumping jacker? I like it snowflake like but I think jumping jacker is more popular LMAO!!

Hopefully accomodating both won''t be a problem at all, but sometimes it can be...depending on where your inscription is located the girdle.

mmmm thats a good question. I didn''t realize with 6 prongs you can set it more than one way.
I was thinking like this.

you can set it either way with 4 or 6... why not?! And I *bet* you there are people out there who prefer them off kilter so that they have a more random look

oh and just on this topic... this is the #1 reason I don''t like the square H&A but liked the jubilee. I definitely prefer the look of having the arrows at 12/3/6/9 better! The H&A square has them pointing to the corners in twos... it bugs me!!

hehehe I''m sure someone has pictures of arrows pointing different ways - as if figuring out if you want 4/6 prongs and if you want the 4 prongs nsew or to the corners... or if you want the six prongs with two to the side or two to the top/bottom... and now you have to figure out if you want the arrows pointing this way or that and of course there''s also the decision on 8 arrows or 10 (solas) and of course the lower girdle length plays a part... ::scratches head:: what was that about ideal numbers? LMAO!!!

Perhaps I will refrain from asking for arrows being aligned, and just ask the inscription to be visible .
I am sure it will look lovely either way.

be a fun test to see how ocd the setter is... he might do it all on his own Oh my its a good thing I don''t have a job like that.... I''d spend so much time making sure all of the melee were facing the same way, I''d never finish stuff! lol
