Little Ruby Finds a New Home

Hi everyone, I haven't been here in a while, and it's long overdue... So many new beauties to gawk at!

I purchased a little star ruby (0.78ct) from Dana at Master Cut Gems a few months back and recently had it set by Sally at Heart of Water in an original setting. I'm really, really pleased with how it turned out, Dana and Sally are always so nice to work with. I don't have the ring in my grubby little hands yet, here are some pics to tide me over

I don't recall the rules around properly attributing the pics, but the unset ruby pic is from Dana and the rest are from Sally.

Lovely setting - Sally's designs are so beautiful! I am guessing it is 18kt YG - it certainly plays well with your ruby! I look forward to your hand pics when the ring arrives.

I LOVE that star ruby and DEFINITELY virtually visited it all the time when it was available. It is SO gorgeous and I'm so happy you put it in such an awesome home. Love the gold!

1. Measurement of the ruby
2. Metal type used in the setting
3. Does the setting have a design name?

We, too, enjoy gawking at everyone's gems and jewellery, including yours. Please come back and post hand shots. I'd love to see the star please.

Thank you everybody for your comments, I should receive it some times next week, hope I'll have time for pictures before I head out of town.

Velouria, I guess we were both "stalking" it!

A few more stats on the ring, the ruby is 6 x 5 x 2.6mm (I hope I can capture the star), the setting is 18k, Sally and I agreed that it would be a good pairing with the warmer hue, and I think Sally is going to let me call it "Juan"

I kept visiting Dana's site to look at this little beauty too, but I was sitting on my hands at the time, trying to be good! I'm so glad it came to you. Enjoy!
