hey guys,
a few weeks ago i purchased my e-ring and i liked it a lot, so i sent it back to get it properly sized an engraved (no refund possible after graving soo i initially bought it without it)

now i got a few little problems: firstly they did have their logo engraved previously, not that it rly bothers me but is that generaly the case?
2nd: for some reason they messed up my personal graving somewhat by placing either one ( logo ir my graving) upside down. So no matter from which side ure looking at it, one of the gravings is turned upside down.
And last but most importantly id say, my personal graving seems quiet hard to read with the naked eye ... the width of the ring is approx 2mm and the font type is similar to "Edwardian Script ITC" if some1 bothers to check it out in word^^ forgot the exact name of it.

Now my final question would be if i should bother about those things and try to get em changed or should i just accept it?
what do u think about it in general?

thx for your help

It's very common, Johannes, for ring manufacturers-artisans to place their "maker's mark" inside the band -- even here in the US, where that is not required as it is in the EU. They may have put it upside down from your requested engraving to distinguish their mark from your chosen words, so your wife-to-be wouldn't be wondering why Zoara is part of your inscription to her.

Edwardian Script isn't easy to read, even when larger than the petite font size needed to fit on a 2 mm band. Are you thinking you might like to have it polished out & re-engraved in a different font?

usually they should give you a few different font options to choose from when you engrave anything...
if they didnt, then u can go and complain to them and hopefully they can polish it off and re-engrave it for u.
and if that's the case, ask them if they can engrave it the same orientation the logo is engraved.

not sure if it's industry standards or not but it would bother me if they were oriented in different directions...

hey guys, thx for ur answers.

Id rather not have it regraved again coz itd take quiet some effort and all but ill have to see if i can live with it as it is.

They did infact give me the option to choose from any font thats available in word, so i did choose this 1.
That said i asked about weather it will be properly readable since i was worried about the font type as well ( but i like this kind of fonts so i tried)
they offered me to send me pictures of how itll look beforehand which sadly they didnt do :/
I was hoping that they would make the font type a little more bold or something to increase readability.
was just curious what u guys think about it. I guess ill have to think about it for a bit weather i can live with it or not. maybe i can take some pictures for u guys later to show.

Personally I'd just live with it.
Makes sense, as other posters have said, that the finds would be reversed so the reader didn't combine the two.....
The ring is meant to be worn, really you'll badly notice the engraving. Its more about the sentiment, and that's still there regardless of font.

Without seeing pics of the engraving, my hunch is that making the current engraving more bold will be counter-productive: bolder means thicker "strokes", which (absent adjustment) ends up with letters appearing more scrunched together.

Like Niel, I hope you can make your peace with this... or at least wait and see if re-engraving (which is not entirely risk-free, especially if you'd be sending the ring on another round-trip trans-Atlantic journey) is important to your soon-to-be-wife. It's looming large for you right now, but may not matter to her, for she will know what the inscription says & the ring itself bears witness to your loving relationship, reflects the caring attention you've given this gift.

Even though a business-like font could be easier to read, ITC Edwardian Script is described as "an emotional, lyrical, even passionate, calligraphic typeface":

Which is perfect for this particular piece of jewelry, don't you think :))
