So, I''ve hated comcast with a passion for years now, and we recently got ATT and U-verse capability here in my area... well, hot dang! It has made SUCH a difference in comcast''s customer service. They''ve been completely turned around. I had an issue today and had to call them. I got right on with a human. Who told me what the issue was. And what was being done to fix it. I left the house and came back. My service wasn''t up yet. Called them back, got a human on the first try AGAIN, who told me what the problem was and remotely fixed it for me, while keeping me on the phone and making sure I was a happy customer the whole time.

I was going to switch to U-verse. But... kinda cautiously optimistic about comcast''s new ''religion'' of customer service. They say there is no one more fervent than a recent convert. LOL.
 
Ooof. I freaking hate Comcast. I have yet to see their customer "service."

We LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE our AT&T Uverse (did I put enough "loves" in that?!) We''re in the St. Louis area and previously had Charter which is the worst service I''ve ever had. As a bonus, Uverse has a website where you can log in and DVR shows. PLUS if you''re an iPhone user...there''s an app for that! I recorded shows on the iPhone app while I was 4 hours away from home so I could watch them when I got back. Love it!
 
My parents had both Verizon and Comcast for internet services - they live in the middle of the woods in the middle of nowhere, so having both was really the only way to ensure they could always connect through something.


Comcast put up another tower, my parents cancelled Verizon, and the problems began. Sometimes the connection was there, more often not, usually very weak but sometimes bizarrely strong. There were new web keys every week and new routers to install every other week, they checked with the neighbours' hired help to make sure the cables hadn't been cut, replaced cables inside and outside... the eighth guy followed the cable all the way down the (long!) driveway and discovered that squirrels had made a home in a tree next to it, and were chewing on it

Call Comcast and tell them you are thinking of switching to U-Verse to see if they''ll cut you a better deal. We did that with Cox last year and they cut our bill by 40% for a year.
 
You're right...a little competition makes them try harder.

I don't think we have Uverse in our are yet. But I've never switched to ATT because DSL (even the highest one you can get) has slower download/upload speeds than Comcast...

Threadjack: Is the Internet through Uverse DSL? And are you guys happy with the Internet speed?

Threadjack 2: How is Lulu, Gypsy? I haven't been on in a while...
