HCA - Scored 1.5 or 1.6 depending on which figures I input (slight variations between sarin/cert)

the IS and images look FAB.

BUT i don't love the VG/VG polish and symm vs ID ID or EX EX and i also don't like a thin-slightly thick girdle. i also prefer a slightly smaller depth, because you lose a bit of diameter in a 61.7 stone. not much but for me...i'm a size whore so i want it up top! also 35 crown angle is not my thing either. if it was 40.8 that'd be different for me personally.

those are just MY neurosis!!!....but i know that it's slim pickins in this range and all that, so i wouldn't toss it out of bed...but i'd sure keep looking for something that had ALL my requirements just to make sure you cover all bases before slapping down the money.

my two cents. it's definitely no slouch though!

Thanks mara - I''ve been reading up on different ppl''s sweet spots, and thought that this might be a tad deeper, but don''t know whether the crown/pav combo will work.

I haven''t had a chance to speak to Jon about this yet.

I think the clarity pics shows feathers in between 4.30-5 o''clock position?

Yes it has been rather hard finding stones in this range

The cert has ''Excellent'' for Polish?

OH duh I was looking at the min requirements on the Sarin!!

Okay scratch my VGVG thing....the cert shows what looks like Med-Slightly Thick for the girdle.

Chances are between the 61.8 depth and the slightly thick areas of the girdle you are losing a bit of carat weight in there, not sure how much, it may not be much at all. I''d ask Jonathan, see what he thinks.

Again, this is all just really splitting hairs!!

Here''s a screenshot of another sarin:

*heheh* but this is what we do here!

what do u think of the feathers?

What I noticed, besides things already mentioned, is those are the shortest lgf''s I think I''ve personally ever seen on a diamond. I would want to see it''s scintillation. Maybe on a bigger stone like that it wouldn''t make as much difference, I dunno...

the feathers don''t concern me, i''m not a clarity person really as i can''t see anything! plus they all appear to be inside the stone which means there won''t be any girdle compromise.

so that sarin shows VG on everything and VG cut grade? how odd? and a slightly thick girdle as an average...which bugs me.

Here''s another sarin screenshot (AGL). I am confused!

why are there so many sarins?

The actual sarin file comes with options for u to load AGS/AGL/3D/3D Symmetry/Fancy etc etc, so I just tried the different options. The figures are similar though.

Jade, I''m not seeing anything here, so I went to GOG, but it won''t play on my computer. But if you''ve seen it, and think you''d like it, that''s all that matters.

Hi Ellen,

You need to download Gem Advisor to view the gem file attached to my post

I agree. I would be very interested to hear what Jonathan says about it. The H&A and IS images look beautiful. And it''s a great size!!! Probably the first stone in that size range to come up in a long time.

Wow, very beautiful!!!!

Yeah this is the only candidate to come up in the search, so I''m wondering if I should wait a bit more. I do want more spread if possible, but then again, how much more would I get in a stone this size with a lesser depth %? Half a mm?

I am waiting on bscope and a colorimeter pic, will post that (prob tmr) when I get it!

Don''t know enough about rounds to comment. But just thought I''d pop in for a quick hello.

Can anyone tell me how to interpret the asset and gilbertson image captured from the gem file? I've made up a collage:

Half a mm? You're probably talking about 1/100ths of a mm!! I totally understand, though, about wanting to get the most amount of spread possible. I, too, tend to like stones with a depth in the mid 60s, but if everything else about this stone checks out to be top notch, I wouldn't discard it for that reason alone. Especially since the depth won't impact performance at all. And stones in this size are SO hard to come by. Keep us posted on the bscope and colorimeter results!!

ETA How's Button? Still keeping you up at night??

I kept asking myself - will I regret it if I let this one go and someone else snaps it up straightaway? Try as I might, I can''t answer that - need to speak to batman! I have heaps of time to search for a stone since Mark is not available till end of august anyway, but I''m afraid that it''ll be hard to find another one! Then again, it has *only* taken a bit over a month to find this one

Button is a very naughty boy these days. He waits till I am lying down before starting his gymnastics. Someone mentioned in the Pregnant P''sers thread that we tend to notice the movements more when we are resting, but I''ve been charting Button''s movements (yeah I''m a geek) and he is MOST active when mummy is resting!

Other than that I am enjoying the pregnancy! Actually, I love feeling Button moves in my belly, I just need something to complain about

xoxo
