Library or book store?

Darn it! So now that I''ve researched the Kindle (and the Kandle light, cute) I''m pretty much convinced I should have one. I''m torn though because I''m wondering if there will be a new version coming out this year, and maybe I should wait until Christmas. Argh! Books are my ultimate weakness. Jewellery and books. I think I will ask for one, it''s mother''s day and my birthday soon.

DH and I are both avid readers and collectors of books. It''s getting ridiculous. We have a small library / study and it''s heaving at the seams. DH has some heirloom books, rare and valuable first editions - his father''s family were bookbinders several generations back. I find them fascinating. My plan is to catalogue all the books we want to keep and give the rest to charity.

DH uses our local library a lot and I use it occasionally. It''s a very small library, but they''re surprisingly good and fast at getting books I request. Recently, I''ve also been buying paperbacks from local charity stores then returning them once I''ve read them so they can be sold on again.

I love the smell of new books too! I used to work in a bookstore and the owner would let me take home galleys that he had stored in the basement of the shop. I had acquired so many books that way, and I finally had to get rid of them. I had to thrown them out though since you can''t sell galleys. I couldn''t donate them for that reason also. I have to go through my books again before we move and make at least one more trip to the library to donate the ones I know I don''t want.

Actually though, my real problem now is that I have SO many teacher books. It''s a bit ridiculous. I should go through those and weed them out but it''s hard to do.
