LF: Diamond Earring advice

- budget is 2500 (CDN)
- in Canada (Ottawa)
- hopefully can buy 1ct or close to it
- I have heard I, S1-S2 should do the trick
- white gold band
- square cut with clear (no colour)

Any advice on where to begin? Should I completely ignore ebay? Need it for the first week in August.

I think you would find they are very different in reality and far more delicate, I am sure WF could send you an actual photograph if you requested one.

is getting princess cut out of the question? in all of these, i''m finding it hard to find (or specifiy) princess cut...

Princess cut stud earrings are not as popular as round studs mainily because when the stud earrings spin on the earlobe - each princess cut will become mis-aligned from the other. This problem does not arise with the round shape as that has 360 degree symmetry so even when the round stud spins, they still look aligned.

For that reason, when a client requests princess cut stud earrings - I suggest that they go for princess cut drop earrings where this problem does not arise (as the drop keeps the princess cut diamonds aligned) or they go for round brilliant studs.

I don't know if this explains why you are finding it hard to specify princess cut studs on those particular sites but I thought that it was worth mentioning this particular point to you.
