I've followed the previous new vehicle threads but starting my own as I'm researching purchasing a new 2018 Lexus RX 350 SUV. I currently own an ES 350 sedan but am wanting to go back to a small SUV. I've very much enjoyed my car but would love to hear from current owners of the model I'm interested in.
I went from a Cadillac XTS SUV to the Lexus but don't think I care to go back to the Cadillac.

Thoughts please?

I went from an ES 350 Lexus sedan to a Lexus RX350. Mine is a 2015 though and I've had it almost three years. It only has 13,000 miles on it now so I hope to keep it for a long time!

I loved the sedan but would never go back to a car vs. SUV! I love the fact that I am able to laterally slide into the seat as opposed to stooping down and over to get into a car. Much easier on the knees! I also enjoy being able to see the road better and as a short person feel like I am either more eye to eye or a bit above other drivers. It makes me feel more in control of my vehicle.

The amenities were not that much different from my sedan to the SUV but of course the vehicles update every year so there may be more now. I truly don't want for anything in my SUV. I love the back up camera, side mirrors that fold in, and steering wheel controls that are comfortable for me. The nav system is better than it was in my sedan although I seldom need to use it.

I will say that it is more challenging to wash by myself than the sedan but I seldom wash it without hubby help!

My husband had the Cadillac XTS for awhile and while I loved being a passenger in it, I didn't prefer driving it. Like my Lexus much better!!

I had a 2008 Rx400h (the hybrid version of the Rx 350) for about 8 years before I gave it to my oldest child when I got my current vehicle. I loved it, it was a very nice mix of luxury/comfort and function. It has 200,000+ miles on it now and it is still going strong with no major repairs needed. I would definitely buy a Lexus again

@MissGotRocks, I’m so glad you replied to this thread!!! I had a 2012 XTS and decided to go with the Lexus ES sedan in 2015. I wish now that I had gotten the RX350 then but live and learn! At least they have more safety features than then. I don’t need the navigation with the technical features to connect with today’s smart phones.

I feel the exact as you in regards to the in/out and sitting up higher, I really miss it.

@Octo2005, that’s great to hear!

My parents are devoted to their RXs. One saved my dad's life. The dummy had a loose tooth that was giving him pain and instead of going ASAP to a dentist, he waited a few days and went after a day of work. He got it removed and they gave home aBX to take at home. Apparently, letting all that time go by resulted in an infection and a high fever. 5 minutes away from home, he passed out, and the car drifted into a snow bank then hit a utility pole. It was totaled and he was perfectly fine. He was hospitalized for the infection (and observation) but he didn't break anything or have a scratch on him. After the accident, they replaced it with another RX. They have a 2013 and a 2015 model. They also like that it's wholly made in Japan (snobs):P2.

My mom likes the height of the RX bc it's just high enough that the sun and snow glare doesn't bother her eyes (even with her polarized sunglasses).

Tell her to get an LFA, she will be home before the sun and snow :Up_to_something:

Hi @bright ice, We LOVE the Lexus SUVs.

We bought a certified preowned 2015 Lexus RX 350 this past December. Our previous car was a 1999 Lexus RX300. Haha yes we like to hold onto cars as long as we safely can and the Lexus doesn't disappoint. Reliable, safe and such a comfortable smooth ride.

We decided to go with the 2015 RX 350 when we needed a new car this past December because we both much prefer the look of the grille and also it was a nice savings over buying new and it had all the features we wanted and then some. And yes, the back up camera is very sweet.

Wow - that's quite the story! So glad he was OK!

We have a CPO 2015 RX 350 that we got a few months after my IS convertible was totaled by a coyote! I also drove the 2018 RX for the last week while my RX had a bit of service so I just had the newest model for over a week.

I love our RX. I would recommend it to anyone! I will say, the new 2018 one was a bit stiffer on the suspension and overall was a bit more aggressive in detailing, style and the way it drove. I actually preferred the feel of our 2015.

I have a 2009 and I LOVE IT!!!!!! I have had it for 2 years now....I have drove SUV's since 1993 and I would never go back....this is my first Lexus and I admit I am now a Lexus owner for life...I just love it!

My wife love her RX350. Almost a yr old now.DSCN0640.JPG DSCN0642.JPG

Thanks everyone who posted, we are going shopping today. I’ve searched the internet this week till I’m blue to make sure I know what color combination and accessories I want.

I hate car shopping, it’s too stressful, unlike buying bling!

Congrats Bright Ice! Mine is silver too - I chose it too because I felt that it didn't show the dirt as much as a darker color. I keep it fairly clean but sometimes weather happens before I get a chance to wash it - lol! Hope you enjoy yours as much as I have enjoyed mine!!

Thanks @MissGotRocks, it was a full day of shopping as we drive Acura, Volvo and the Lexus. I wanted to be absolutely sure of my purchase!
It’s been a stressful day but having a drink now!!!

Congratulations!

Congrats, BI! .
