I'm considering a 1.2 GVS2 stone that lists three imperfections. The first is a crystal (presumably the grade setting imperfect), the second is a cloud, and the third is a feather. Looking at the diagram the feather is small and only visible from the bottom view of the diamond. It is located near the top by the girdle. Thanks.

Is the feather at the girdle or on the facet to the right. On a VS2 I think you have less to worry about with the feather than you would on a lower grade. Can you return it if you see in person and are not in love?

Ya, no problem. The naming convention is from most significant to least significant, if a feather is of the same significance as another inclusions, it will be named before the other inclusion. The fact that it is listed last points to the fact that at worst it is only a VS1, nothing to worry about, wherever it is located.
