Let's play a game... rainbow gems.

I hadn't realized this was Dr_Diesel's red! I'm so surprised he sold it!! I knew there couldn't be 2 stones that nice floating around. It's so rare to see a truly fine one. Kudos, my friend!!

I was so, so, so surprised too! I remember immediately hopping onto Loupetroop to message him after he posted his first batch of stones on PS!

Not really, as I tend to keep the best stone I have as loose stone. Im satisfied to just stare at them like a pervert.

Then we are all perverse here!

I was going to tag you for blue, but didn't want to seem bossy. :lol-2: I'm so glad you shared mr. velvet here (and in the claw thingie, no less)! He's positively glowing!!

Eh, be as bossy as you like, it's a judgement free zone. :P2 And yes, the claw thingie! No loose stone leaves my apartment unless it's safely in its box or nestled between the prongs of the claw thingie. Can't risk losing it!

You did the only right and necessary thing when such an opportunity presents itself because you have no guarantee you'll ever get another one like it. This was my thought process as well with velvet blue. PSers can be like locusts this way, but really, who can blame us?

The most beautiful sapphire I've ever seen! Do you have any plans for setting? :kiss2:

That's the very same thing I thought when I saw it first posted. And no, not yet. I keep jumping between ideas, designs and inspirations. Truth be told, I'm stuck because any idea I have or find, I like for a grand total of 5 minutes, and then decide it's not pretty and special enough for this stone. We'll see. I'm on ban island for now anyway.

I'm surprised too! ...but times are what they are ;). I'm ecstatic that it is able to stay in the PS Family and that @Bookwyrm is so thrilled with it! It really is a once-in-a-lifetime stone (at least for me)!

I hope everything is looking up now!

Well, we just got official word that the “new policies” have been officially reversed as of today.

They were also clear that the timeframe for reimbursing the previously denied claims is still TBD.

There is still pressure to keep money flowing into the corporate account until that day happens, but at least we know it’s coming eventually!

… So, yes! Things are definitely moving in the right direction!

It seems like it is just a waiting game at this point. They probably have a fairly significant internal mess to clean up at this point.

I'm too scared to even use the claw thingy on my gemstones (not that I have any clue how to use one in the first place ). A jewellery once told me a story about how the sister of one of her clients accidentally damaged a sapphire using one of those claw thingies, and her client got super mad at her sister! ;(

Haha true!! I got to compare the red spinel to a couple of rubies yesterday, and the spinel is definitely a lot sparklier , but the rubies had more of a deep glowy look in indoors light. It's hard to describe but I can definitely see why people say spinels and rubies have very different looks now!

Ahh I tend to do that too! I've now told myself that I MUST go through a process where I come up with a setting, consider it for at least a couple months, then if I'm not sick of that setting by then, I'll wait a few more months, before having it made. No more impulse settings!

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the opportunity to own something like this, truly! I've never seen anything else like it, and I feel fortunate every day to have such an incredible gemstone. I spend way too long just staring at it and admiring the neon red sparkles! :kiss2:

I'm so glad to hear that those policies have been reversed! I hope people hound them enough to make sure they acknowledge those previously denied claims and what a mess they've made for practitioners and their patients. I think I've said this before but I just wanted to say it again - you're amazing for sticking it out and trying your utmost to keep your practice going so your patients can receive the help they need!

It's such a silly piece compared to all of these beauties... but here he is... picture jasper and turquoise in sterling silver. lol

Being as unimaginative as I am, I just call him Mr. Owl. I have a lot of critter pieces I'm too embarrassed to share. lol

I'm looking at this at the bus stop
We don't get the beat autumn colors compaired to the south island but it is still so pretty right now just with all the orangey browns and bright Sulphur
When I finally get around to getting those brown jasper stones strung I'm defiantly posting here in the orange or yellow depth

Now I'm so sorry for all the interruptions
What are we up to as it starts to rain

Speaking of autumn, I think we're on ORANGE!

I managed to find this Ceylon sapphire cab I bought for specimen purposes. It's this murky, muddy orange color haha.
I kept it in the same spot with a pinkish/orangish quartz crystal and another quartz from Minas Gerais, Brazil, and black tourmaline from Skardu, Pakistan.
I was in a phase where I collected based off of locality.

not my photo saddly
but this is up at Virginia lake (local duck pound and public gardens) up the road from work
we get very warm summers but not the snow or really hard frosts to get better colours like you get

I'd be there every day just laying out amongst the flora and fauna. It's breathtaking, D&D!

These specimens are really cool... that top/right one looks like strawberry quartz (a favorite). And I love schorl! Tourmaline and spinel are my favorite black gems. Black diamonds would be my favorite, but they're treated 99.99% of the time. I should've included black and brown categories here, but I figured not too many of us own those shades. Maybe it could've been brown/champagne and black/gray. Ahh well... too late now, I suppose! Thanks for sharing!!
