happy easter everyone

I'm glad you treated yourself to an Easter egg @Daisys and Diamonds, you deserve it after the time you've been having - Wishing you a Happy Easter as well!

@Daisys and Diamonds, I hope you feel much better soon. Slightly better doesn’t seem good after what you described and all you have been through. Hopefully tomorrow will be the day you start feeling much closer to normal. Enjoy the Easter egg. Wishing you and Gary a happy Easter.

I lost my paper clip chain today. Have no idea how or where. I know it was seemingly clasped when I put it on so I can't imagine what happened. I haven't lost a piece of jewelry since I was in my 20's. I'm really irritated..... Of course the cost to replace it is much higher than the price I originally paid with how much gold has gone up.

@Lookinagain,
Check under your car seat. I found a watch there once, which I didn't know where I'd lost.

It's tough when the fur kids get old. My cat's prescription kidney food has skyrocketed and I just spent a whopping amount of money on 3 orthopedic beds to replace their much loved donut beds that didn't last long after repeated washings. I buy dog beds because 2 of the cats sleep together and the other one is as big as a medium sized dog so they need the room. Their arthritic bones deserve the best but my credit card caught fire during checkout :mrgreen2:

You love them and it shows. What I say to myself when spending money on my kitties that I know others might not bother, is, thank goodness we have the means to do it. Yes, that means I may have to bypass the purchase of a bauble, but they bring me more joy.

@Daisys and Diamonds - oh my goodness, I’m sorry you’re having to deal with that level of pain, and work anxiety on top of it all! I hope the medication does its job and that you’ll be feeling better soon!

@Calliecake I’m glad your mother is on the mend. I hope her recovery continues to progress smoothly.

I don’t think I’ve posted in this thread before. It’s certainly not because I’m immune to grumpies, whiners, and complaints! It may be because I’m afraid that if I start, I’ll never stop - and bore y’all to tears on the process!

My hubby has some sort of tooth infection that two dentists have dismissed because they can’t find it. It started about two years ago after something relatively minor - I think it was a molar that was extracted after crown broke and it was deemed better to extract the tooth than to try to repair it or replace it with an implant. Anyhow, he’d started having bad breath after that, something he’d never had a problem with before. Twice since then he’s had to take antibiotics for other issues (he’s very susceptible to sinus infections - and injuries - LOL) and both times it cleared up the bad breath for a while.

I’m concerned about the bad breath only because I know it shows that the problem is still there. I am concerned that the infection is still there, and I’m very concerned about the possibility of it getting worse and possibly migrating to other organs. And I’m very angry that the medical professionals who should be treating this are just shrugging their shoulders as if it’s no big deal.

Or maybe it is no big deal?

About the time this started, hubby and I were looking into red light therapy. I bought the very cheapest red light therapy torch I could find just to play around with it and see if it helped anything. It maybe helped with arthritis pain in my hands…? That’s very transitory, do it was hard to tell. It did seem to help with hubby’s mouth issues, but it’s awkward to use for that and took a long time, so eventually he quit using it. I will probably end up getting him a more powerful (and costly) red light therapy torch in the hope that he’d use that regularly and it would help and keep the problem at bay. But that’s more a bandaid than a solution, and it still makes me mad that the dentists won’t fix the root of the problem - no pun intended.

If you’ve made it all the way through this you’ll understand why I don’t normally post here. ;-)

How are you feeling now @Daisys and Diamonds?

Thank you for your kindness @Daisys and Diamonds and VR Beauty. She’s doing great now.

@VRBeauty, Has your husband seen a periodontist? A periodontist may be able to get to the bottom of whats going on especially if there could be an infection and the tooth has been extracted.

@VRBeauty,
Does he have dry mouth? It's not unusual among older people and can also be caused by medications. Not having enough saliva can cause bad breath. Digestive issues can also be the source of bad breath.

Dry mouth is a possibility. I’m quite sure this is originating in the mouth and not elsewhere though, and just the nature of the odor makes me think it’s related to an infection.

In the “life isn’t always fair” column, by the way, is the fact that my hubby is naturally rather for-free. The man simply does not generate body odor and has never had to deal with underarm deodorants or anti-perspirants!

@VRBeauty, Has your husband seen a periodontist? He may be able to figure out what’s going on. If the tooth has been extracted, I’m wondering if it could be an issue with his gums in the area the tooth was extracted. I’m just throwing it out there as it seems strange that antibiotic use makes the odor disappear for a while.

I hear you about mystery dental problems!
Last August I had a routine crown placed over a cracked molar. Four days later, a puzzling series of tooth sensitivity, and pain started in multiple teeth, none of which were anywhere near the crowned tooth.
I even had tongue numbness which came and went. It was maddening and 3 dentists and an endodontist couldn't figure out what was happening.

Even though none of the dentists would admit it, I think it was nerve damage due to the injection for the crown placement.
It all eventually resolved after about 4 months. I lost 17 pounds over it, cause I was practically living on bananas and yogurt during that time.

Is your husband in pain? I think an infection in the socket would be hurting him. Could the bad breath be periodontis?
I'm sorry he is dealing with this. It's awful, I know.

@VRBeauty I assume the dentists have taken x-rays of his jaw and found no pockets of infection. And that he doesn't have a current sinus infection that could be draining? I agree, I'd see either a periodontist or an endodontist. If antibiotics clear it up, I agree, it sounds like there is an infection somewhere.

Did they also look for tonsil stones? Sometimes you can see them.
One of the main symptom is halitosis.
It could also be tonsilitis etc.

This: xrays, panoramic views, or CT scan of the head and neck. Check for osteomyelitis. Sorry he is suffering...dental issues are the worst!

kind of funny- only the online shopping part
we have become short of towels, everything is/has worn out
usually as its just the two if us we use one bath towel a day between us but since Gary got the horrible carbunkle at xmas we have been not shearing and have been using a ton of towels
anyway when i had covid i desided it had been long enough as he had all cleared up and i sheared his towel .....i was really run down and had only the energy to cook oven chips and chicken nuggets for my tea most nights and i paid for it with a really nasty outbreak on the back of my head/neck, i had not been eating enough fruit and veg and i thought it was a covid headache so i could have wacked some antibiotic ointment on it if i had known, i was really sweaty during covid and the vertigo that followed and i had a wee zitty thing on my head/neck that i just would not leave alone
anyway im almost better, i had to cut 6 inches off my hair, im not sure if the bald patch where the infection was will grow back, now i have itchy dandruff as i have been using antibacterial soap for about 5 weeks instead of shampoo, although i must confess i did use Borris' gentle caa's shampoo to try and save my hair from becoming like straw, it actually smelled quite nice -it wasn't flea shampoo just some i got for her when she was sick and couldn't wash herself

anyway anyway this is about towels
so 'everyone' has been buying things from Temu...
i found some really cheap towels, probably thin i thought but well they will do for over the winter, will dry quicker on the line i wasnt expecting miricles , they were very cheap but also end of lines, i am sure i checked the sizes......
but they must have been mm not cm
we now have many new flannels (face clothes)
they arnt even big enough to dry a wet cat
they called them bath towels
sine when is a flannel/ face cloth a bath towel ???????????????

oh my, when the parcel arrived at the front door it was soooooooooo small and lite
sigh

so today i ordered some new towels from a NZ big box retailer, delivery 3 to 5 days
and some new undies and sox
well i ended up ordering waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too small knickers so i have gone through all the palava of trying to change the order
even if they are not opened you are not allowed to return knickers (or earrings) even if the package isnt opened - so a work mate might be getting those

so no way am i even close enough to be clever enough to buy loose gems online

then i paid my cellphone bill and it said the payment didnt go through
looked at bank account and it appaired not to have
so i paid again
looked at bank account and it had come out twice
i really hate my cell phone provider

Wow @Daisys and Diamonds, I am sorry this happened. As they say: when it rains, it pours. I hope that's the end of the bad luck stint.

I find the same problem at temu. You have to really watch the sizes on EVERYTHING. Thankfully it's easy to do returns from Canada. Items that are great there are art supplies, craft supplies. I did buy a double dog stroller there and thought I was crazy but it actually turned out to be really good.

I am in full grump mode. Starting to plan a trip to NYC to visit stepson & his wife and the flight choices from my little dot on the map are awful. I'm think I'll have to fly to Portland in order to get a one-stop flight to NYC which isn't all that bad because I can go up a day early and have dinner with the other step-son & his family but I'm whiny too because it would be more convenient to fly out and back to my own town.

@Matata What a pain! Just don't fly to Newark. I always flew there for NYC, but no more!

@Matata What a pain! Just don't fly to Newark. I always flew there for NYC, but no more!

I'd rather crawl all the way there on broken glass than fly to Newark. I found one flight that was added late last night that I booked and I hope it doesn't change between now and August going through Denver to La Guardia.

Another thread has been deleted. The one Kenny started about the "R" word. Don't know what happened that broke the rules. It was there when I went to lunch and gone when I came back (It was 4-hour 2 Manhattan cocktail lunch after 6 hours of gardening in the hot sun) it was gone. Frustrating.
