hello again,

leon mege has a wband under his ''available for purchase'' section that i think would be perfect with the eli i have just ordered. i have inquired about one other band in that section before, and his reply indicated these are final sale. my question is this (and i understand i may just have to call and ask myself, but figured i''d check here first and didn''t see it already addressed in another thread): has he ever softened on this policy so that someone could view the ring to be sure it is what they want? he only has the one picture and i''m 99% sure it is what i want, but i''d hate to be locked in without seeing it and then find out it''s not quite right after all.

thanks in advance for any input!

As far as I know, his policy still stands. I recall Maisie wanted to purchase a set ring (OMC) and she questioned him about softening his policy since she is located over the great pond, but he didn't budge on it. This was sometime in the middle of this year.

Personally, no matter how wonderful a ring looks online, you''ve gotta see it, touch it, wear it to really know if it''s for you. I personally wouldn''t go for it with no return policy, even if it''s a LM.

thanks chrono and surfgirl. i agree, i need to see rings in person. there are so many little details in even the simplest design that can make it perfect, or not so much. that''s why i was hoping someone might have already gone through this where mr. mege gave them some leeway to see it before committing.

oh well...... leon''s work is just so stunnigly elegant, it would be nice to have a band by him. however, bill pearlman has plently of options just as desirable and very similar to what i was eyeing, and he is so easy to work with and great about sending items to look at and try, it''s probably best i focus on that route.

thanks again!

Any chance you''ll be in NYC soon? Then you could go visit the ring. You could also ask leon about the policy, but I wouldn''t count on a change.

What about seeing what Eli can do?

kcoursolle - i don''t live all that far away, a day roundtrip, so i was actually thinking that maybe it would be worth it to go in and take a look, if it keeps calling to me.

diamondseeker - i''m such a goober sometimes. i miss the obvious! i should speak to bill about that tomorrow, so that if that is a workable idea they can make the two rings together. see? there''s a reason this site is so awesome!! thank you for the gentle knock upside the head!
