Hi Everyone,

I am have been a lurker for sometime now! I am looking to change the setting of my engagement ring and wedding band. I have a simple 1.05 RB Cut diamond on a band with a 7 stone band.

I am thinking of jazzing it up a bit. I really like this Leon Mege setting

What do you guys think? Does anyone already have this setting?

Any feedback would be great!

Thanks

Thats a very beautiful setting. It will work out quite expensive but totally worth it!

Hi Sparky6,

it's a beautiful setting; very similiar to mine (413), which you can see
here.

Where it's different seems to be in the basket...

Were you planning on wearing your band with it? If yes, don't think I would recommend going with three-sided pave.

Sorry for the double post; I tried to add this photo to the one above. Here's a photo of the 413 and the matching band but with a spacer in the middle to protect the pave.

Thanks for the replies

CDNinNYC: I would not wear my band, I would create a new band that would match the leon setting. I am not sure about the three sided pave. I think I would be more interested in having it one sided, which will reduce the cost as well.
The one you posted is very nice!

sparky, that mounting is beautiful. The only thing I would change is I wouldn''t have Leon pave'' the bottom of the donut (the part that will touch and rub the top of your finger every time you move your hands). Pave'' on the bottom of the donut might turn out to be an irritant to your finger. Nice smooth platinum or gold I think will be more comfy. Other than that little tiny change? Gorgeous!

I love that setting...just beautiful!

iT really is such a stunning choice. I wish I could afford something like that!!! Can''t wait to see what you decide!

I love that setting as well. I am trying to decide what to have Leon do for me as well. That is one of my favs. I also love the Heidy ring too. There are a couple pricescopers who have it. Leon told me that he really doesnt like his rings worn with other rings that might damage them. He is not a big fan of spacer bands
and when I asked he didnt like the idea, but then I saw that picture too. So now I am thinking I may ask for a spacer for the heidy in case I want to wear
my eternity ring with it!

The problem with Leons rings for me is that you cant see them beforehand for scale. He wouldn''t tell me the size of the melee for the rings I am interested in. He
sees the stone and then decides. You just get to be surprised

Love it

I really am in love with this setting but I am still unsure about the three sided pave.

Gemgirl, thanks for that piece of advise, that makes really good sense. I wouldn''t put diamonds underneath as you are right they may be irritating and afterall they won''t be all that visible once you are wearing the ring!

I have the diamonds on the donut and they're not irritating at all.

I think if you are only having one row of pave, it might make sense not to have the stones on the donut, for symmetry's sake, but if you go with the three-sided pave, IMHO, it looks better to have the donut paved as well.

I've attached a photo that, hopefully, provides a visual of what I mean.

Sparky6 I love that ring also. I would be interested in knowing what his estimate is without the three sided pave. It is a gorgeous ring

Wuaw, that ring is amazing. I love it, the detail is just fantastic. Not planing on upgrading my ring any time soon, but if I was, I would definitely go for something like that...

That’s an exquisitely beautiful piece with just the perfect setting. I simply love this one and I am sure everyone would. :)
