I just have a few questions/concerns regarding my recent Leon Mege quote. Any comments, thoughts, suggestions, or opinions would be great!
So yesterday I e-mailed him (through the contact page on his website) asking if he would set a 0.5 carat in a certain setting that I attached to the e-mail. He wrote back in 20 minutes that he could do any size diamond in that setting! I was over the moon!!!!!!!!! So after that I filled out the actual quote page with all my information. I put my "reference" number from the e-mail contact. I filled out all the info as follows:
0.5 carat stone that I already own; size 6.5
to be set in platinum in a non-cathedral, 4 prong, low set, small donut solitaire and sent the SAME picture that I did in the e-mail. (it is actually roxylady''s ring she got recently...https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/my-new-leon-mege-engagement-ring.117303/)
So I get the quote back today and it is really "off" as in he quotes solitaire r776 (this is a cathedral "classic" solitaire), in a size 7, with a 0.52 diamond at a "cost of labor of $1500" and then it said "total ring cost $4580"...?!? I don''t know where the wrong size and carat weight came from? Perhaps he thought I needed a diamond even though I checked the box that said I already owned it?!?
Any thoughts on why this is so inaccurate for what I requested? I sat there at my computer literally saying "huh" out loud. I''m guessing I will just have to call him and get it sorted out but I thought I would post and see what others might think/advice. Thanks
