I am a huge fan of Leon''s work and expect to have a 3+ carat round or cushion cut sapphire for a pave halo e-ring made in the next few months. His work is incredible and I''m trying to figure out if we can even afford one of his masterpieces. Is there a ballpark that someone could share about where his rings range with pave halo? I''m thinking something like Style 833, Halo 821, 523 Heidy or 523 Capuchonné or even 511?

Any range info would be helpful -- We would love to stay around $3500 for the setting.

I love Leon''s work too and a 3 carat sapphire in Leon''s halo setting would be gorgeous! Ball park for his halo settings with 3-sided pave on the shank would be $5000, maybe a few hundred less. I think the pave work adds a lot to the cost, so you should probably discuss the design of your setting with Leon to fit your budget.

Good luck! I really hope you get this made, colored stone rings have been in my mind a lot lately.

best to just email or call Leon for a quote but I found his prices to be very reasonable for what he does. He''s a bit more than mainstream designers like Ritani but a lot less than Michael B, daniel K etc. you could definitely get a setting from him with your budget but you might have to make it one sided pave instead of 3. Still, I''d just get a quote, then you''ll know exactly how much it will be.

YUMMY! I LOVE LEON!

MRSSALVO is right, I would do a price request. I did not too long ago (before I ended up just having my local jeweler do the setting) and it came back fast, detailed and Leon was VERY nice. Be sure to indicate if you are "trading in" your current mounting. I did (including the grms of the platinum mounting), and he indicated an estimate of how much to deduct from his "price quote"....HE IS VERY FAIR. And his prices are worth every penny (as obvious by the many beautiful Leon rings here on PS)....

How can you tell that a ring is made by Leon Mege ? Is it marked or engraved in a particular way ?

Aside from the perfect/near perfect crafting, I believe the rings are marked inside. Do a search of Leon Mege and take a look! I am sure Leon owners will be happy to show their pics :)

Well mine says leon mege with his m logo on it. The one I have was $4700, initially we had tried to stay on budget with 1 sided pave, but we found the price difference to be too minimal. I think it was like $300 dollars less, so my guy decided there was no point to it, mainly because Leon seems to specialize in three-sided ornate settings.

An excerpt from his website "...If there is enough space I would stamp your piece with the following stamps: "Leon Mege"; "PT950" or "750" - indicating 18K gold, or both if your piece is multi-metal; "M-logo"; and serial number."

Mine is marked M-logo LEON MEGE and a serial number (three things)

Thanks everyone for the great info -- I think I can convince my BF to go for the 3-sided more elaborate setting since we are getting a nice big sapphire for about half what we would spend on a diamond (it took a lot of convincing that I REALLY want the sapphire and not the diamond :-)

His work is just phenomenal and he''s local for me (NYC) so I think we''ll just go for the estimate now.
