Hello all, new to pricescope, but I''ve spent some time doing my homework and researching on this site. I''m looking at a diamond something like this http://www.highperformancediamonds.com/index.php?page=view-id-diamond-infinity&id=475 in size/color/clarity. My question would be I''ve fallen in love with the Leon Mege Classic Solitaire setting but have never seen with a stone this size. Would these two go well together, or is Leon''s setting only for stones of a larger size?

Hi and welcome to Pricescope. I tried your link but it isn't working for me can you try sending the link again. I think a solitare Leon would be beautiful in any size!

There are quite a few 1 carat-ish stones in Leon settings. Should be fine.

Leon Mege will make the setting appropriate to the stone. All their work is custom and they have a great sense of proportion. It should be a beautiful combination!

Thank you all for the reassuring advise. I had my heart set on the stone from Wink but it looks like it''s on hold. Back to the drawing board.

I would still email Wink. My new diamond was on hold but I ended up buying it when the other person decided to buy a different diamond.

Ditto

I have a 1.11 carat stone and it is a great size for a solitaire or practically any setting really! It will look beautiful in a leon solitaire!

Looks like this stone is new and the pictures aren''t up yet, but it''s similar to the one you chose:

I have the Leon solitaire and love it, but I would ask them to set it medium-low as opposed to "as low as possible" with a stone that size. You want enough clearance for the wedding band.

Thanks for all the help everyone its so very much appreciated. So I''ve heard back from Leon and he is more than happy to do a ring with this size diamond just as everyone here has mentioned. Now I just need to find the right diamond to do the job! Few things I know about the diamond I''ll be looking for.

Budget 7-9k
H&A ideal cut for sure.
1-1.15ish ct. (I could go bigger, but I don''t think my budget will allow considering my other criteria)
G or H in color
VS1-SI1(must be 100% eye clean)

I need to find something that strikes me. I''ve found the setting that I know she''ll love, now I just have to find the stone to match. I''ve been looking at infinity and whiteflash ACA''s. Both seem very nice to my vastly uneducated eye. Any help in the diamond search would be greatly appreciated.

Diamondseeker your ring is what made me fall in love with the Leon solitaire. I was really stressing out on the right solitaire until I saw your ring. I knew i had to have something from Leon after seeing yours! It''s gorgeous!!!

Just an update for everyone. I went with 1.18ct H VS2 ACA from Whiteflash and it arrived safely at Leon Mege last week. Now the waiting begins for Leon to work his magic. Sheerah Koloroutis at Whiteflash was an absolute dream to work with. She was very helpful and answered all my questions and requests very promptly. I was very hesitant to ordering online, but they really made the first time diamond buying experience enjoyable.

Also, first impressions of Leon was he was very willing to answer any question and work with me on my design. I went with his classic solitaire and single prongs. Nothing too complicated, compared to much of his work. Rachel over at Leon Mege has also been very helpful. I had some questions about the ordering process and she was able to get me sorted out while Leon was working with a client. All and all this has been a very enjoyable experience. Now if only the 4 weeks Leon quoted me on would go by sooner!

I''ll be sure to post up pictures when I get the ring back from Leon. I''d like to thank everyone who gave their thoughts and kind words in both my threads.

my diamond is also at leon''s as we speak and hopefully i''ll be able to pick up the ring this week or next. it''s about a 1 carat diamond in the classica solitaire setting with single claw. i''ll post up pics when i get it in my hands.

to add to your comment about leon, i went and made an appt with him to consult with him about the ring and he was very easy to deal with. ppl have said that he''s a lil hard to deal with sometimes cause he''s an "artist". but i found that he was very friendly, open-minded, and personable.

I''m sure he was seeing as you wanted his classic setting and didn''t try to get too involved in the details!

Just kidding! I can''t wait to see the finished ring!

Still have 2 weeks left of waiting until the ring is finished. Or atleast until the estimated time elapses on the work order. I also found Leon easy to deal with. Maybe it was because I''m going with the classic solitaire setting as well? Either way, every time I''ve spoken with him on the phone he was pleasant and willing to answer any and all of my questions.

GMK83- Glad to hear that you''ve had a nice experience with Leon, thus far. He does such a lovely solitaire- fabulous choice! Can''t wait to see

Sounds like you got a fabulous diamond and it will be dreamy in the ring. Can''t wait to see it.

Hoping the wait is almost over. Got the invoice today and sent payment. Can''t wait to see what Leon''s created.

Aww, aren't you sweet! Thank you! I have zero regrets and love my ring, so I think you'll be so pleased! Now I need to go see the stone you chose!

(oops! No link, but the stone sounds fabulous! 1.18 is even better than the first one! H VS2 is a perfect choice, too!
