Hi Pricescopers!

So.... Leon got back from holiday today, and I managed to hold myself back from calling him ''til 10.03am for an update on my ring, haha! He said to call mid-July to get an updated delivery date. Anyhoo, looks like it will be another 2 weeks.

I know, in the grand scheme of things, it''s not long at all, but OH MY GOD! time is dragging!!! I can''t wait to see my finished ring!!

Anyhoo, I''m now trying to set up insurance. Leon''s website says: "When we are finished we will send you a detailed invoice which should be acceptable to your insurance company." I have not had my loose stone appraised. Should I deffo get the ring appraised for insurance purposes, or can I rely on Leon''s doc?

Also - and I know there are many threads on Chubb, which I have scoured - but can someone give me a definitive answer as to whether Chubb has stopped doing standalone jewelry policies? The NY agent I spoke to today said he can only do it if paired with (for us) renters insurance. I would like a standalone policy, that would allow me the same freedom of vendor and stone choice that I had when building this ring. Do you have a recommendation - and an agent in NY?!

Thanks all!

If you do a search for Chubb you will find a few contacts that PSers use, and you should call those agents, not your "local" agent because most local agents have no idea about these stand alone policies. Your agent need not be in your state either.
