I have a Leo I purchased 3 months ago. When we were looking at rings I saw one that was pricey.Lady told me "its an ideal cut" My rings says Round Modern Brilliant. Is that the same as Ideal cut? Is there that much of a difference? I read a comment that said some RMB cuts are ideal cuts. Is it just the wording?

Hi Sandra and welcome!

The Leo is a branded cut as you may know. As to Ideal Cut, the term can be used loosely by some sellers, it doesn''t guarantee you a well cut stone. To determine cut quality a round diamond needs evaluating on its own proportions and visual properties. As to round modern brilliant, this is a term used to describe the shape and style of a round diamond, some would be true ideals and others may not be, as the term is just describing the type of diamond, not the cut quality.

Hope this helps.
