I saw that you really liked the gown actress Anita Ekberg was wearing in Musey''s posts and it reminded me so much of a dress I saw in Romona Kevesa''s current ad campaign. Not sure if you saw it...

Here''s the original dress you liked....

oh, wow!! Thank you!! These are absolutely stunning, and I particularly love the first one you posted!!

Thanks so much for thinking of me!! I got really excited when I saw my name in your subject!

I am pretty sure I am going to do a custom made gown, and I am still in the inspiration phase, and these DEFINITELY fit the bill, this is just what I''m going for.

Again, thanks - I
these!!

Awwww, no need to thank me!

If I see any more one-shouldered gowns, I''ll post them here. If you like them, you can take them to your designer. One thing I would suggest, though, is even if you''re going the custom route, it wouldn''t hurt to try on some ready-made gowns to make sure the style you like works with your figure (assuming you haven''t already).

Good luck! I can''t wait to see what you come up with.

That would be awesome, thanks! I've found some, but somehow never came across these.

Your suggestion is a good one. I have tried on dozens of gowns, but have not come across any like this IRL. Which is much of the reason I'm going custom (besides the fact that one of my best friends is a great designer IMO!) So maybe I should seek them out and see what I can find. I need to find a place that has higher end gowns like this to try on, the bridal shops I've been to don't seem to have much selection.

Yay for one-shouldered gowns!

You know what, I''ve seen a lot of one shouldered evening gowns, especially on celebrities. While they''re not white, that doesn''t matter since your friend is designing your gown and you have control over the fabric. I''ll post what I can find.

How awesome you''re friends with someone who can do this for you!

I know, I am lucky to have her in my life!

I have seen a lot lately, too, in evening gown style (at the Grammys, Oscars, etc.) Here are some I found:

And one more...

I''m not entirely sure what material I am going for - something silky I suppose? My friend is meeting with dressmakers this week and we have a meeting in a couple of weeks and she''s bringing some sketches. I will scan and post for comments - should be fun!

Don''t think this one is to your taste, but just in case... This is the designer of my wedding dress, Manuel Mota for Pronovias. Love it!

Another Romona Keveza, although quite different from the first two I posted.

These are great! I had seen the Priscilla of Boston, but the rest are new to me! Simply gorgeous, I am loving this one-shouldered look. It seems classic (a la Anita Ekberg in 1956!) yet modern and updated all at once. It''s also a little unexpected, which is part of the appeal to me. I will send these along!

Yes, I am definitely looking forward to seeing some sketches. I love her style and trust her creativity, but I''m anxious to see what she has come up with!

Thanks again! You made my day with all of these!

Here''s a close-up of the previously posted gown''s neckline.
That turned out tiny! Let''s try again...
