Hi all,

Planning to propose in the next few weeks, and I am agonizing over the following Lazare diamonds:

1) 1.20 ct D VS2

2) 1.35 ct E VS1

Both are Lazare diamonds and in addition to them being from Lazare, 1) is certified by GIA, 2) is certified by AGS. Both are none fluorescent.

The difference in price is about US$1,800.

Barring the differing carat sizes of the diamonds, what is the trade-off involving D VS2 and E VS1? Is color more important than clarity? Given that both are pretty much similar (ie:- D is not much visible (to the naked eye) than E; and VS1 is only marginally clearer than VS2).

Which one would you get? Would appreciate your advice and opinions. Thanks!

Hi! For the extra size, the imperceptible color difference and the small price difference, I would go with the E color. The clarity difference is so minimal, it isn't even a consideration.

Well, from the info you gave, it''s hard to say because it''s not comparing apples to apples, one is bigger. VS2 is very nice clarity, should be totally eye clean. I would say go for that, but, the VS1 is bigger. So it''s down to which you want.

#2, too. But, if AGS0 but not new cert, I'd want those specs.

P.S. Love ough decisions!

I''d vote for number 2 as well.

And also.......Ira, you crack me up

The color and clarity of both are excellent. So of course, no question, I''d want the 1.35 E VS1 assuming they are both ideal cut!!!
