Though this does not have an effect on EGL USA, it is interesting to note Eurogem's move to standardize grading in the rest of the world.

“From now on, EGL will stick to one set of standards,” [Guy Benhamou] says. “If a client goes to EGL Israel or Antwerp, he will receive exactly the same grade. The idea is to show consistency.”
Seems a long row to hoe in front of them to establish consistency that is recognized world-wide... but perhaps a first step.
