How can you know it looks clean and brilliant as expected of diamonds without the relevant info ?

If it is a pain to get technical details and you like how this one "sounds", you can always make use of the seller's return policy and get a reality check of the stone in that interval: be it by your own judgement or by enlisting an independent appraiser to the task. In any case, those numbers really do not say allot about how this stone looks.

D/SI1 and just below 3 cts (hopefully) is an appealing comparison. The price could easily be of a 2.5 cts E/Si1 with AGS lab report... All for the better if brilliance and clarity do turn out pleasing for that piece.

If you can provide more info you'll get more input. I assume it is near 2.9 ct? We could help you more seeing an inclusion plot, mag photo and especially measurements and a reflector image (ideal-scope).

For this kind of investment you should insist on a Sarin, Ogi or Helium scan to provide crucial info on crown and pavilion angles. An ideal-scope image would be immensely helpful as well. Are you shopping store to store and seeing these diamonds 'live'?

If I were paying 29K for a stone, I would find one that doesn''t involve as many compromises. You seem to be really maxing out size at the expense of everything else.

Good polish & symmetry?? (I''ve never seen a "fair.")
An SI stone, probably not eye clean?? (my take is that very few SIs are really 100% eye clean, especially in the large sizes, and this is really large).
Medium fluoro coupled with a D??

This type of stone doesn''t appeal to me, but that''s my opinion. I think you should amp down the size and get a little more quality for your 29K.
