After waiting for all the forms I need (birth certificate, etc) I finally can go to the SS office and get my name changed!!! Just wanted to share, I''m really excited

Congrats Smurfy! I just got my new SS card in the mail on Friday. I didn''t need a birth certificate to do the change...just a marriage certificate, but better to have too much info than too little! I always show up to SS or the DMV with like every proof of my identity I''ve ever had.

I ended up not needing the birth certificate!! The person I talked to last time must have been mistaken,ugh. But it was something I needed for my files anyways so at least I have it now...and I''m officially a *hubby''s last name*!!! lol
