We chose this stone and i took it to charles carmona and he examined the stone, it seems to be exactly what it is stated. My only concern is the clouds depicted in the cert. They are faint but when i turned the diamond upside down and look at a certain angle I can see the cluster. The clouds are faint and cant be seen from top, they can be seen sometimes from the side. I think the cuts are ideal, excellent polish symmetry, I just dont know if i want a better certificate, i know that for about a $1000 more I can find an ideal cut 1.75 with VS2 clarity and h color ( i saw it in a thread asking about time frames, i am sure few saw it). Is it worth it ?? by the way, union diamond is custom making the BN setting already, and they have been great to work with. The inclusions are located way down in the pavilion almost at the level of 43.0% marking on the cert. i realize i can keep paying more and more to get a better stone, i guess a 2nd good question is "is this stone a good value at 12400?" Thank you all for your inputs.

Well ... do you think you''ll be able to see the clouds from the side once the stone is SET? From an inch away ... five inches?

If just KNOWING it''s there is bothering you then maybe the 1K is worth it for peace of mind ... but that''s probably ALL it will be buying yanno? I doubt if anyone else will ever see the difference between this stone and the new VS2 stone.

You know, I am not sure if it will be visible from the side, and it seemed to me when i was doing searches here on PS, the vs2 that were only a grand more had poor proportions running the HCA, etc, or were not exceleent sym, pol. But I guess if you look around enough you can find a good stone at a good price. It is funny, the family friend who has a store showed me an EGL 2 ct H & A stone that was like 21 grand and I did not even have the cert to look at to see any angles etc. it is amazing how the net and sites like this inform the consumer. The experience of going to the B & M and seeing the stone shine in the lights and just saying "fine mount it and lets go" notion is gone.

Anyone else want to chime in ??

It looks like a great diamond, as to the inclusions being visible, it depends on your own comfort level. It is a larger diamond and an SI clarity, so being able to see something isn''t unheard of, although all SI clarities are not created equal. Some like having a birthmark which they can use to identify their diamond and feel it gives it personality, others need an absolutely clean diamond for it to be " mindclean" to them. It depends on which category you fall into, but if you do decide to go with another rock, perhaps a VS might be a better choice. The inclusion you describe wouldn''t worry me probably, but then I rather like the way an inclusion can personalise a diamond!
