We were there a couple of years ago...

We stayed at the Bellaggio and liked it. If we go back, we'd definitely try the Wynn.

I second the couple of people who said Olives restaurant was really good - we sat outside and got to see the fountain water show, and it was wonderful.

I don't recall any other restaurants, unfortunately, except for a bad experience: stay away from Peter Luger. We asked our taxi driver where to go and he recommended Peter Luger - since we've eaten at Peter Luger in Manhasset, NY and Brooklyn, NY and really enjoyed it, we figured we couldn't go wrong. Worst steak we ever had in our lives (and it wasn't cheap, either...)

We went there for about a week last year and stayed at the MGM Grand, Flamingo, and Luxor. MGM grand clearly had the nicest rooms of those three, and they have a pretty cool lazy river with their pools. Supposedly Mandalay Bay has the best pools, though. Flamingo was kind of a dive, but had a really fun pool with a water slide. I liked the atmosphere in the pyramid at Luxor, even if the rooms weren't as nice as MGM.

The annoying thing about MGM and Luxor is that they're pretty far south on the Strip, and I prefer to stay in the middle. So next time I'll think about Paris, Caesar's, or the Venetian/Palazzo. Paris looked pretty nice from the outside and the casino floor, and I hear the room rates aren't bad. Bellagio is probably too expensive for me. And I want to check out the new Cosmopolitan, but I'm sure that's expensive too.

I was just wondering, did anyone ever book one of those highly advertised "Las Vegas Vacation Packages"?
Expedia and Bookit has a "special" right now that includes 2 tickets to shows (options listed, including things like Ka and Zumanity).

I was wondering if anyone has experience with these kind of specials, or should I suspect a catch (like all the tickets to "good" shows are usually sold out/unavailable, or the package bookings are unreliable).

HI:

I am also curious about booking tickets...we've found sites that feature show seats much cheaper than "Official" sites and wonder how this can happen...I am reticent to book unless it is with TicketMaster, etc.....

cheers--Sharon
