I wanted to get the Pricescope community's feedback on this diamond with a cavity. The cavity appears to be on the pavilion side, which would be better than having it on the crown.

For a SI2 stone of this size, will the cavity be a problem? It's listed 3rd on the GIA inclusion list, so it's not supposedly the clarity setting inclusion.

If I get this, it would be for an e-ring upgrade. Should I set the prong to cover up the cavity or leave it freely accessible for cleaning?

Also, any thoughts on the small-ish table (54%)? The HCA score is 1.1 so it should be a sparkler. I'm hoping to see this stone in person today.

Totally impossible to evaluate without magnified images of the stone. But it has been said here many times that 3 carat SI2 stones are generally not going to be eyeclean from top and sides. Did you see it? Was it eyeclean from the top and sides?

Thanks Diamondseeker & Garry! I saw the diamond in person today. The stone was very brilliant when I saw it indoors under direct light and away from any lights. I didn't get a chance to take it outside to see it under the sunlight.

The stone is eye clean when viewed from the top and sides. The only time I could see that large crystal with my naked eye (at the 9 o'clock position) was when I viewed the stone from this one specific angle. At any other viewing angle, the crystal disappeared.

I was really excited initially because the inclusion plot was very minimal/sparse for a SI2. But Garry's post reminded me of the notation "additional clouds are not shown". This stone is a HCA 1.1 so I'll continue to investigate and get it checked out by an appraiser as Garry suggested.

Oh, the cavity...it's partly on the girdle and partly on the pavilion. It's not large and can probably be covered by a prong. Here's a close up of the inclusion plot - again note the comment "Additional clouds are not shown".

I second the suggestion that it would be good to have it checked out by someone working for YOU, but I would suggest that on any purchase with this price point. A cavity, natural or indented natural at the girdle visible only on the pavilion side is not, of itself, a red flag. This is actually fairly common, especially just over an important weight point (like 3.00cts). The fact that the thinnest point on the girdle is 'medium' is a good sign.
