Hello my fellow LIW''s!
My now fiancé proposed about two weeks ago! I apologize for not letting everyone know sooner, but I was swamped with finishing up my MA thesis and taking my MA exams. The proposal itself was a COMPLETE SURPRISE because he always gave me the impression that he would ask me to pick out a diamond and ring setting BEFORE he proposed. However, he thought that the proposal wouldn''t really be a surprise if that were the case, so he decided to propose before we got a ring.
Even though he had money saved up for a ring, I thought it would be best that he use it towards other more important things and that we should wait until we both had stable careers to get an ering, since I already had a promise ring. However, I decided to take a look on James Allen''s site one day to see what was out there and found and incredible deal! Not only was the diamond an ideal cut AGS0, but it was VS2 clarity and J color (I''m not color sensitive). It was in the carat range that I wanted (.75-.85) and also cost $600 less that what we had expected to pay! It was a steal!
So I showed him and we both realized that we probably would not come across a similar deal in the future, so he just got the diamond. It came in yesterday and I have photos of it in this thread:
