I just bought a diamond via the internet with a GIA report and want to get the diamond checked out here in Australia. I live in Melbourne but would be ok sending the stone out of state (it is laser inscribed with the GIA number). I would love to get a brilliancescope test done and don''t know of anyone here that does it. THe DCLA (Diamond Certification Laboratory of Australia) doesn''t do it and I don''t want just a repeat of the same testing the GIA did if I can get more info elsewhere. Is there such a lab or jeweler here? I want to check that the diamond is basicall what I paid for and I want to check the brilliance. It is an AGS 0 cut, Ideal/Ideal, and rated EX,EX,EX,VG on the HCA so it should have great brilliance and it looks like it does to me. Does anyone have any info that could help? I don''t want to send it back to the states as I could get fined 15% tax getting it back into Australia.
Thanks, Kate
