I'm starting to think of baby furniture and my mom suggested La Z Boy for a recliner/rocker for nursing. She has a La Z Boy recliner that she bought in the 80s which looks appropriately dated and ugly with blue velour fabric, but is still super comfy due to good construction and cushions - and it has NOT been lightly used. I was skeptical, cause really don't want that sort of monster in my home even if comfortable, but then I saw this one and liked it: http://www.la-z-boy.com/Product/5752-2980/Terra-Apartment-Recliner/

Plan would be to use it for the baby for a year or whatever then move it to the living room, so I don't want it to look babyish, and will buy it in a fabric to match our living room set (which we also need to buy).

Anyone bought anything from them recently? Are they still good quality as they used to be? What type of fabric is best for durability? I don't think I want leather, maybe microfiber?

We bought a microfiber recliner-sofa from them about 3 years ago. It is SOOOooo comfy and we've had no trouble with durability at all. They also sell a warranty for it so if the fabric stains/tears/etc they repair it for you. (we've had no need for it but our couch is in a room with no kids and our animals aren't allowed in that room)

I like fluffier, softer stuff and FI likes firmer, more supportive stuff. We looked all over and this was THE couch that both of us loved. It is still comfy and wonderful.

I have suggested them to my family members and we WILL be buying more from them when the time comes to put new stuff in our livingroom.

I bought 2 sofas from them. First time purchase from them. Very pretty, not great quality. I'm super dissapointed. The sofas have buttons in the cushions and they have come off more than once. Dealing with the warranty department was such a pain I just took the whole cushion to a seamstress to fix. I have never ever had anything like that happen to other sofas I have owned. Also, the cushions are already sagging. I love how they look but I would not buy from there again.

I have a rocker recliner from LaZBoy that we use in our sons room. We have had it two years and love it. I think the quality is very good. OUrs in microfibre which is a must for cleaning up spitup and other messes.

Might I suggest a model with upholstered arms? It is much more comfortable when nursing or reading stories as you will be leaning on the arms a lot.

ETA: It will likely be in babies room longer than a year. At 2, we still use the one in my son's room for stories and also when he is awake at night sick or needs some snuggles. We use it so much still that when we have our second, we might buy another one for the baby's room so that we don't have to move the one out of our son's room. It just gets used every single day.

We have a 5-6 year old recliner and used to have an 18 year old recliner. 18 year old one is with my MIL and it's in better shape than the 5 year old. Their quality has declined somewhat. Also the 18 year old one requires two men to move it and the 5 year old can be moved by me alone....
