Hi Everyone,

I''m new to the forum but wanted to get your option. I purchased a pair of Kwiat diamond studs from Norstroms 3 years ago (2.5 ctw, H SI2, 3 prong set in plat), and paid $16K. This year I traded up to 3.05 ctw, E, SI3 and paid the $8K more. I found this website and have been learning more about diamonds in general and how to buy. Althought I purchased the "anniversary price" and was told the new studs would go up to $33K after the sale, I now feel that I made a mistake and that I sound have never gotten and SI3.

Did I get burned?

do you love them? si3 isn''t a horrible thing, especially if they look clean to you. you didn''t get a *terrible* price considering the brand name markup. unless you are completely unhappy and have some form of recourse, it is best to just sit back, relax and enjoy your new studs!

Dear Patrice......Burned is a relative thing. Do you like the earrings? Do they sparkle? Are they beautiful on your ear? Did you pay too much? Probably, but there's likely nothing you can do now, except to enjoy your bling, and remember that the next time you want to buy anything diamond, there is an entire community of wonderful folks here on PS who would be more than happy to help you with your next project. If you have more detailed information about your stones, you can use the Pricescope your diamond feature above and compare prices. Or, you can take them to an independent appraiser to ensure you received what was represented by Nordstrom. Chances are Nordstrom represented the stones as what they were. Nordstrom is a quality company.

If you have the earrings evaluated and they don't match what Nordstrom represented, chances are Nordstrom will take them back and refund your money. I have returned clothing months later that I had taken the tags off, but had not worn and no questions were asked. That's the type of retailer they are.

I hope you got beautiful rocks for the price you've invested. Chances are you did. Wear them in good health!

Thanks to everyone that responded. I do love them and they look very clean to the naked eye, and yes they are on fire.

I did call Nordstroms and express my concern and they were great about it. They are sending them out to Gem Data to get another appraisel for me. I told them I heard about the GIA diamond rating scandal and was concerned. Nordstroms is very good regarding customer service.

The good thing is I do have life time trade up so if they get an E next year that is a VS1 and I can afford it (I''m eating cearl for dinner to pay for the ones I just got), I can trade up.

Thank you!

Patrice
