Hi everyone!

New to the forum. I've been doing a LOT of research on diamonds over the past few months and am ready to take the plunge.
I'm looking at a Round brilliant cut diamond with the following specs:
GIA certified 3X
F Colour
VS2
1.25K

On the GIA certificate, it states that there is a "knot" and in the diagram, it is shown from the top view somewhere in the middle.

I've read that a "knot" is something you'd want to avoid because it is one of the worst inclusions to have and could affect the diamond in the long run.

However, since it is a VS2, by definition, it hasn't reached the surface and thus, I think it should be okay.

Any thoughts on this?

Thanks for your help!

Have you seen the stone? VS2 is not guaranteed to be eyeclean. But if you have seen it and cannot see the inclusion, you are fine! If not, you can't make a decision on it unless someone examines it closely from the top and sides and tells you what they see.

My diamond is triple X, VS1 clarity and it has a knot inclusion. It does not reach the surface of the diamond, and with a loupe is extremely difficult to even find. It has no effect whatsoever on the sparkle or clarity of my diamond.
