What does this mean for a setting? Thanks in advance.

Here''s an example. It''s a style of band where the two sides come up and meet almost in a point in the middle. The classic Tiffany solitaire is a knife-edge.

Here''s another quick example from Scott Kay looking down on the ring. It might be a bit easier to see this way.

No, they don''t appear to be. To me they look rounded with no edge, but those pics are hard to tell. A top down pic is the best way to see the knife edge, IMO. I would call them and ask to be sure. They''ll be more than happy to help you.

Thanks.

Can anyone find some knife-edge settings on GoG for me. I''m looking for either platinum or white gold. I''m having a hard time distinguishing between rounded and knife edge. Thanks in advance.

Here''s some:

<- if you look at my avatar, you can see an example of another knife-edge setting. See how it comes to a point at the edge? ^_^

Hey lisa, do you have a link to any vendors that sell the knife edge tiffany setting. What about goodoldgold, do you know if they do, because i''m thinking about purchasing my diamond there, and if I can get a setting there too, it''d be great. Thanks.

You just need to talk to someone at GOG so they can tell you what your options are. Did you girlfriend ask for a Tiffany knife edge setting? How much are you wanting to spend on a setting?

I just realized you are getting a princess cut stone. If you are just wanting to set it in a plain Tiffany setting, it would be the kind with the rounded shank. The original knife edge setting that Tiffany sells is a setting they use for round stones. I don''t even think they sell princess stones there. So if you want a plain tiffany-style setting, I''d just go with one of the ones you posted originally.

If your girlfriend specifically requested a knife-edge, here''s something from the GOG website that might fit the bill:

Make sure to check with Christen at GOG since there are a lot of settings they carry that aren''t on the website. Like Diamondseeker said, if you''re getting a princess, getting a knife-edge band won''t make it look like a Tiffany ring since their classic knife edge ring is 6 prongs and is make for round diamonds. In case you''re curious about what it looks like, here it is:
