Hi girls I would like to know what look you have or prefer or if you have both and alternate. Please post pics too if you have as I''''d love to see all the different looks!

Thanks in advance :)

I don''t really like channel bands. I do, however, LOVE shared prongs. Mine is just a classic 6 prong knife edge Tiffany style(from Excel Diamonds) with a 2ct shared prong band, all platinum. Couldn''t be more happy with the look. I also wear a thin 1.5 mm above my solitaire when my fingers are cold and I love that look too. I''m having a hard time getting my picture to load, I''ll try again tomorrow.

Cool! I can''t wait to see pix

I have a Tiffany knife-edge solitaire and am planning on getting a shared-prong eternity. I LOVE that look!

Great question.......we bought the 3.9 mm channel set eternity band from Tiffany already to go with my 2.45 RB that is in a 6 prong Tiffany style setting.......however, I really think I am liking the look of a shared setting more. Plus, it seems as though it would be easier to keep clean consistently. Channel settings are so hard to keep sparkly clean even when they are well taken care of.

I love the look of a shared prong ring with a knife edge solitaire, but had troubles with the diamond girdles eating into the e-ring. I have ordered a channel set ring from WF and should have it hopefully soonish!! I`ll post pics with my solitaire once it`s here!!

Shared prong! You might need a spacer though. I think that a channel set band looks better with a half-round or a flat band, just because it has a flat top itself, and whilst I''m not a huge fan of obsessive matching, I think it would annoy me to have a flat-top channel band and a pointy knife-edge whilst both have the straight edges. The shared prong mixes it up so that they look totally different in every way and I prefer it.

Seeing if this works. I keep meaning to do a show me the ring post with all my pretties but I'm really intimidated by the gorgeous photos I see here. What I love about the shared prong is all you see is diamonds. With channel set, you have metal above and below the diamonds.

I am going to choose a shared prong personally. It comes down to preference.. both styles would look nice.

Makemepretty you have such Gorgeous rings!!

I have a knife edge but it isn''t a solitare. It has 2 side stones so not sure if you would want to see it or not. But I have a channel set ring that I''ve had even longer than the knife edge. Personally I prefer channel set because I am rough on my rings and I don''t want to worry about rings eating into each other. I think both are pretty but it''s a personal preference of mine.

I have a knife edge e-ring, and a pave knife edge wedding band. I don''t like how channel set rounds have holes inbetween, and I tried the e-ring with my 5-stone shared prong band, and the girdles would eat into the prongs.

Hi Mrs K

My engagement ring isn''t knife edge solitaire, but I do have both channel set and shared prong. Pics to follow.

I LOVE the look of the shared prong. So beautiful. But I find it scratchy and I have a one year old daughter who I am afraid of scratching so I generally always wear the channel set. I can "live in" the channel set without taking it off but only wear the shared prong when going out and take it off first thing when I get home as I find it uncomfortable.

Both rings would look beautiful with the lovely knife edge solitaire

Ice Is Nice, I think the channel band actually looks better with your ring. It goes better with the lines of your emerald cut. I think a baguette band would be stunning though ;)

I don''t find my shared prong uncomfortable but I do not sleep in it(or clean wearing it). I also made sure it was half a size(or a 1/4 size in summer) bigger than I actually needed.

Thx for all your posts girls!! Actually my wedding ring us bead set. I have decided for the eternity ring instead of getting another one to wear on the other side of my engagement ring, I will purchase a claw set wedding ring which is similar to fishtail pave. Will then wear it on my other hand or mix and match depending on my mood. I think we are ordering it this weekend and will post pix of my rings once it''s made :)
also I am in Australia and seems like shared prong is not very common or popular. Most girls get channel or plain.
