Last Saturday I went to Intergem armed only with my trusty boxes of loose stones (and my credit card and my check book and some helpful PS''ers) in attempt to find homes for some of my gems.

My homeless gems.

First up I found a nice little home for my round zircon. This zircon was actually a freebie from Barbara at ACS during one of her August sales so I didn''t want to spend a whole ton on the setting. Here''s the zircon in the setting.

Here''s the side of the setting. The baguettes are a bit wonky; one is more tapered than the other.

Next up is a setting for my emerald cut chrysoberyl. It''s a funny little stone... it''s all green except for one corner which is yellow. This is a platinum setting; the prongs need to be fixed and the wedding band needs to be removed as well. I just love the baguette/round combo.

The next setting has a few contenders for tenants. The diamond isn''t that dark in person; I think it''s just bad lighting on my part.

My round spessartite was the first one I tried in there.

Next up was a green tourmaline. The sunlight and the angle make it look more yellow than it is.

The green tourmaline a bit farther away.

Finally I tried the octogon sunstone in there. I think it''s a bit big for the setting but I really like the color with the setting.

*shuffles feet* I er also picked up a few new pieces. I got some earrings from Andrew Sarosi. These are red spinel (faceted stone) and pink tourmaline (cabochon).

The earrings in the shade. The cabochons are included (very obviously in these pictures) but it''s not so noticeable when I''m wearing them.

A better picture of the spinel.

And another pic.

And (finally) I purchased this antique moonstone and garnet ring.

Side shot. The side garnets are a lot darker than the center garnet.

*whew* And done.

Oh pretty. Intergem comes by me every year, and I want to find some settings. How was the pricing if you don''t mind my asking?

Wow, that stone POPS!

ETA: It was very smart of you not to have them set any stones there. Always take your gems and settings to your trusted jeweler. All the benchmen at Intergem are in a big hurry, and will chip or destroy your gem, and/or set it crooked, unless you're super lucky.

Very nice!
