Try a search - there have been a few Kindle threads, and I know TGal posted a review comparing the Nook and Kindle on one of them. I personally have a Kindle 2 US and a Kindle 3 (sold my Kindle 2) and I LOVE both. I don't need a touchscreen or a color screen (in fact don't want one, because of the battery drain). I want a small compact device that lets me read - no hindrances please. And the Kindle definitely does that. The new one is SO small too - wow. I think the Nook is still a little bit slower on page turns and that would bug me. However, I do like that the Nook lets you lend books and of course, there are books you can read for free, etc. at B&N cafes with wifi. I don't like that Amazon uses an e-book format that locks you to their system (all those books I bought for my Kindle - useless if I switch readers). However, since Amazon has such a great selection I don't plan to switch e-readers anytime soon (unless it's to upgrade my Kindles).
My husband has had a Kindle for over a year now and loves it. I wanted the Nook (because it does color on part of it) but when we played with it in the store neither one of us liked the format. I then decided to look at the Sony Touch and ended up buying it. I like the touch screen better than the mouse they have on the Kindle. The Kindle is wireless, the Sony you have to hook up to a PC. The Sony screen has a glare on it and you cannot change the font; however you can always tilt your screen to get rid of the glare and you can adjust the font size. I am pretty happy with it overall. It seems like the Kindle's batter lasts longer than the Sony but I can easily go a week on a charge.
