This evening, through no fault of my own, my Kindle 2 was partially submerged in water. It was submerged for 1-3 minutes, I'm guessing, before I noticed what was happening. I immediately dried it with napkins and a restroom hand dryer as well as I could. When I got home, DH took part of the back cover off for me, so I was able to dry that part, but there are parts I can't seem to get to that I'm afraid are wet.
In addition, when I first removed it from the water, the screen was going nuts, flashing on and off and flashing a bunch of different "sleep" screens. I am afraid that means it has shorted and is dead. I haven't tried to turn it on since I know you're supposed to let electronics dry first if they get wet.
Any suggestions, tips, comfort, support? I'm thinking maybe this is some sort of cosmic retribution for me loving that thing so much. I seriously have no idea what I will do without my Kindle!
