Kindle/iPad magazines - must be connected to wifi to read?

I am considering switching one of my magazine subscriptions over to Kindle so I can read it on my iPad. Since I carry my iPad when I travel anyway, that way I wouldn't have to carry the magazine on the plane too. But how does it work? Do you download the monthly edition like you do a kindle book and then you can read it when you are in airplane mode, or do you need to be connected to wifi to read it?

As you can tell, technology is not my strong point... :cheeky:

I'm not sure how it works with magazine subscriptions, but I have a ton of books that I purchased on Amazon downloaded to the Kindle app on my Ipad and I don't need wifi to read them. I'm assuming it would be the same, but :?

OK, so I subscribed, downloaded the edition, and turned on airplane mode. It seems to be there! Woo hoo! Now if I could just figure out how to get the rest of my subscriptions turned over to my Kindle/iPad, I would be one happy camper--or traveler, as the case may be!

Dee Jay, some of them need access to the Internet for ads, etc,
